Maybe it's because of the number of members who signed in that Greg banned (justin, jason (who landed on his head after falling from a mountain), or fake sign ins that posted spam and Greg deleted, stuff like that.thePike wrote:Why are the numbers different?Chiclo wrote:The member numbers and the number of registered members are going to be different.

I don't know if banned members are discounted from the public count. Only if their account is deleted would that drop the number.ManofTheAtom wrote:Maybe it's because of the number of members who signed in that Greg banned (justin, jason (who landed on his head after falling from a mountain), or fake sign ins that posted spam and Greg deleted, stuff like that.thePike wrote:Why are the numbers different?Chiclo wrote:The member numbers and the number of registered members are going to be different.

Most of the difference is going to be taken up in accounts that register but never validate. They are assigned a unique member number, but never add to that count.

At one point I deleted about 100 members who registered,
but according to their profile they never logged in.
My guess is that they were mostly automated programs
that are used to post links to herbal enhancements,
entertainment websites, etc. For whatever reason,
the program failed so they only registered, but never
posted anything.
I've since implemented a few extra obstacles to keep
automated programs from joining the site.
The number of people "banned" "suspended" or otherwise
blocked is very low... around 10. Even in those cases,
the account may still exist, there just isn't a way for the user
to access it.
Regardless, it's clear that the site is still growing...
Who knew that Valiant fans were so well distributed
amongst the general population? (We are everywhere!)

Hmmm.... idea for an official VALIANT fan club. "The Archies"
Too bad it wouldn't work, though. Archie Comics probably have that trademark... that and we'd have to shave our heads

I wonder how my ex-girlfriend is doing these days.
It's not what you are thinking. That was the nickname she gave my junk. I'm not saying she is a demoness.

A daemoness is a generic term form a female daemon if such a thing actually exists. Do daemons have male and female sexes or are they sexless? Hmm that's theology for you.Isn't the proper term Succubus? heh
A succubus is a particular type of daemon that appears in the form of a woman who seduces men and feeds off of the carnal energy of their union.
Incidentally the word daemon is a *SQUEE* of an ancient Greek word meaning protective spirit so technically, everything written or said about them since is wrong.
