I play a browser-based game called Tribal Wars and have named villages after fictional comic book cities (US based). DC has given me plenty, as well as the Dark Horse ones and a smattering of others.

Can you guys give me some names and which series/character they are associated with?

Sparta (300)
Basin City (Sin City)

Not really fictional, but it's not around any more

It definitely declined from city-state status, but there's always been a Sparta. :)

Okay, I had overlooked Basin City, so that may be one.

I want fictional cities based in contemporary USA if that helps narrow it down.

Cheers for the start guys. More suggestions welcome.

Cinnabar Flats, Steel Harbour, Arcadia and Golden City (CGW, except Golden City seceded, I am sure a DU guy like yourself already got them)

Timely, Wisconsin (...Avengers Terminatrix Objective?)

Headless Cross, Arkansas (Ultraverse v2)

That's it for right now for me.

I thought of this, too, but he said he was looking for U.S. cities, so I guess that leaves Estarcion out.

It is a great little book in my view - good call.

I really like Midnighter, but also Welcome to Tranquility and Stormwatch PHD started strongly when launched.

There isn't much competition now though, especially with Gavster's relocation to the Hawiian islands!

Was there a town called Acclaim in the Valiant Universe?

IIRC in Fantasic Four vol.1 #1 The FF lived in Central City (although don't hold me to that).

If you remember Acclamation, OR., it is debatable how well it belongs in the Valiant Universe. It was in PunX.
