No humor, here, but I think that a lot of eBayers don't look at the eBay stores listings, and even ones who do often get caught up in the heat of a "bidding war."
Plus, it depends on what the bidders searched for:
"eternal warrior cgc 9.8"? then they're fools for not taking yours
"valiant cgc 9.8"? a little harder to find yours
"valiant cgc?" fuggeddaBOWDit!
the other seller has a gallery pic, too.
depluto--what is Primagen doing to Adon in your pic?

Right on the nose there, a lot of people don't even know to look in the eBay stores. I usually get my best eBay deals out of the store area.BloodOfHeroes wrote:No humor, here, but I think that a lot of eBayers don't look at the eBay stores listings, and even ones who do often get caught up in the heat of a "bidding war."

This is madness and makes no sense.
Though so much on ebay makes little or no sense.
When i first started to use ebay i would go to the ending first stuff and scan ten or so pages till i got to 24 hours ahead. I would once a week buy something with no thought as to what i was doing.
I got over this after a while
and now i make sure theres no cheaper copies or better postage price etc.
I wonder though how many people impulse buy still and never bother to check what else is out there?
There must be hundreds maybe thousands worldwide who do it wrong( if you can have a right and wrong on how to spend your own money).
This item would surely only sell to Valiant or CGC high grade collectors right?
So they would know to keep tabs on similar auctions and switch from one to the next according to the price they are willing to pay right.
I had a situation last year when i sold some Spawn in untouched 9.6 9.8 IMO.
I started then at 99p and some sold but none went for more than the start price.
The # 1& 2 never sold for 99p but i thought no big deal it happens ill burn em instead and have some fun still ( not really although spawn is old toss).
The next morning whilst scanning a few pages about to finish right there in front of me was a copy of spawn # 1 about to finish and was currently at £13+.
I was shocked and really taken back.
This auction was a ten day one and the offending high bidders ( 3 of them) had all bid the item above £5 after mine ( 7 day auction) started.
Of course i could have messaged them to say hey you guys check my re listed 99p beauty but thought nah they'll never reply if they cant even be arsed to check if the comic they are bidding up is cheaper amongst the 10,000+ items currently on auction.
Which was about the same time it dawned on me there are a lot more idiots in this world than i thought.
Which im afraid is the only logical answer i can offer here.

I think depending on what level of store you have, it only shows results contained in the store sometimes. Like if you pay the highest fee/month for your ebay store, I think your items will always come up in the search results. If you have the lowest level store, your auctions only come in the search sometimes. I think this might be the case, but am not exactly sure.

i would suggest doing the following:ckb wrote:eBay IQ not improving....

when the auction ends, message the 2nd place bidder and say "hey, i have this EXACT same graded comic in my ebay store for $xx.xx. it's right around your high bid, so if you are still interested in one, you're all set"
it's a little bit more work for you, but i've made a lot of sales doing that.
good luck
