They may stay valuable because of the people here wanting it to remember, but I'd never pay anything for it. It's some drawings done by some Paul Jenkins wannabe. Idiots pay money for crap like that. The Harbinger wrote: However, people are saying the trashcans will go down. I think they could be worth a pretty penny in the future since there were only a hundred made.

By the way the 'trash can' sucks balls! I hate that disgusting smirk on that chicks face on the cover. I can't look at it with out feeling contempt and anger. (and no i don't have one)
But today is a day for happy valiant thoughts.
What fun it is to let the mind wander and think of the good things to come from valiant.

Not that dude who might go down as the cheesiest mother f****r i ever had the misfortune to watch on TV tell crappy lies about a load of signed crap.
Boy that rubs me the wrong way listening to someone cheapen what i love in life.
Telling unsuspecting newcomers to comics that "this signed ltd edition is hot and running out fast so get em now" type hype.
The amount of times ive had to tell customers who said " i got these really scarce items of QVC for £150. how much will you give me for them"?
Then i let them down gently explaining how they are practically worthless and never will be anything but nonsense and never to buy that junk again.
I always said i would not support DF as they cheapen and help ruin the comics industry with their overinflated poop.
It would make sense that someone like that would try a stunt like VIP.
who knows its probably way off mark but if it were true i wouldnt be at all surprised.

Regarding the rights that Dark Horse has. We dont know anything about this agreement. It could be something or nothing. Or it could be limited by a certain amount of time.
If someone buys the rights to produce a product based on an image doesnt that usually run out at some time? Its not like it is a forever thing, right??
If they can get Magnus and Solar worked out then we have everything we need... I think
Oh yeah... we need..... SHOOTER... well, it would be a fun thing

Hm, it's a settlement as opposed to a "final ruling" in VEI's favor. I wonder how much (if anything) VIP got? No doubt there's a confidentality agreement on it so we'll probably never know.
It's my understanding due to the insane length these conflicts can go on (with endless appeals) and the high cost of losing such cases, most intellectual property battles are typically settled.

Ya court costs byte. in Az they just changed the law in housing cases so that a individual can not be charged with the court costs if the builder wins in a case. I think they are trying to get them to fix mistakes before that comes about. Most were not filing because of the cost and the state gave them immunity long as the complaint was not too far out there, and builders in az have been sc@@ing the common man for a long time.
Congrats to the future of valiant

I totally agree. Settlements usually end with a monetary payout. VIP doesn't strike me as a group that would just lay down and drop their claim to the trademarks without being bought out. VIP were probably not even serious and had no desire to publish new Valiant material considering their stitched up Ashcan. They wanted a monetary payout from the very beginning. If VIP is happy with the settlement then they probably got what they wanted: a huge load of cash. And they didn't have to do much for it too. The second agreement in the settlement was probably as you said, that their identities not be revealed, ever.Todd Luck wrote:Hm, it's a settlement as opposed to a "final ruling" in VEI's favor. Now that the legal battle is over, hopefully we can now be told the status of the Magnus, Solar and Turok.IanAlexavier wrote:Regarding the rights that Dark Horse has. We dont know anything about this agreement. It could be something or nothing. Or it could be limited by a certain amount of time.

You know what? That entire mini debate about DH is unfounded.IanAlexavier wrote:Regarding the rights that Dark Horse has. We dont know anything about this agreement. It could be something or nothing. Or it could be limited by a certain amount of time.

Both DH and IBooks couldn't have the license to print new Magnus material simoultenously, so if IBooks published a Magnus comic, that means DH does not have and never did have the license to do it themselves.
