Who was the seller. I'm trying to find some good sellers as I have been disappointed lately with a few sellers I've dealt with through e-bay and the forum. Thanks.

Follow up:

So, today I got an e-mail from NEC...here's what it said...

"Dear Sir,
Well here are a few things that might help.

-The regular edition of the book had a die-cut in the middle of the cover showing off The Tick on the opening splash page.

-Book was written and drawn by Ben Edlund.

-Book was published in September 1988.

-Cut version is limited to just 200 copies.

If you need anything more specific let us know.

NEC STAFF"

They goofed..they meant UNcut version. But damn, how good am I? 200 copies, on the dot! :)

So, now you know...one of the rarest variants of the 80's, much rarer than either of the MM #1's, on par with the Albedo #0 firsts....and Tick was extremely popular...

All it takes is a little advertising. ;)

Now I gotta find some more to buy!

I wasn't expecting this to go nearly so cheap. I don't know why for only having 3 copies in 9.8 that it didn't get more luv. Definitley one of the toughest Valiants to find in grade.

They have a run of Rai # 1-5 for 60 dollars. The # 3 is a centered logo version! First he wanted 90 for the set so I hope he will lower it down again soon. His store is closing on Jan 15th. I'll go in there again and see what I can dig up. He says he has more stuff in the back. Hopefully I can pull out more of the hard to get stuff.

I noticed this in the one listing, as well...
UNITY: - (1 total): 0 issue – mail in only – not available in stores
How cool would it be if that turned out to be a Unity Red? Good luck! :hope:

Futureshock's a nice guy, and posts on these boards occasionally. I've gotten some good stuff from him in the past. Too bad I missed that Solar #10. :)

Zeph, you gotta let others get some good deals once in a while :P

Also.....On my way home from work, I dropped by one of LCS and got 2 copies of Magnus 1 with cards/coupons (condition 9.6-9.8!) for $3.00 each.

Not bad either :thumb:

Hey Knight,

About the shipping, the package was sent piroirty mail boxed. It could have cost about $6.00 dollars (coming from east coast to west coast) if it weighed in between 1-2 lbs. However, it was just under 1 lb so actual shipping was $3.85.

No big deal to me; others would have shipped it media mail or something. :atomic:

<laughs>...I've only ever gotten ONE 'killer' Valiant deal on eBay (unity red $7), and one in real life (Harb Pink and Mags #0 30 cents.)

So there. ;)
