X-Men 205 (Spoilers!)

Anyone else totally dislike this issue? Being a Gambit fan myself I am utterly disgusted with the way they are treating him. They have ruined his character and now he just jobbed to wolverine, why in Gods name would they hype up his comeback only to have him lose so easily? Do the *SQUEE* writers even know there history on Gambit? He already defeated Wolverine a few times.

I remember them being evenly matched, now they turned Gambit into an absolute joke in all aspects. Why must they go out of there way to ruin a classic character like Gambit? It almost made me want to quit reading Marvel forever after reading this issue. Is it just me or do a lot of writers hate Gambit? Sure seems that way. Why in Gods name do they over hype an dover expose Wolverine, they honestly have made me hate this character over the years.

I've found that the key to reading current marvel comics (at least as far as the X-Books are concerned which are really the only ones I read) is to not remember anything in continuity that is over 2 years old ~ish (maybe a little less with a new writer, maybe a little more with a seasoned veteran).

Over the past few months I've been reading Uncanny & X-Men starting at Uncanny #100 and its been interesting to see how the charaters have evolved through the writers creative inspirations (or in some cases, the lack thereof...)

I'm actually highly disappointed with the Wolverine character in general now-a-days. They've made him a rip-off of Eternal Warrior (read Wolverine: Origins) and way too powerful (I'm still a little confused about how her survived after the event in Civil War where his fleash was totally removed from his skeleton yet in grew back in mere moments...).

As for the Gambit/Wolverine match up, I thought it was pretty even keeled (by my old school mentality I always thought they were fairly equal in ability, Wolvy just won this round (as I'm 100% certain that Gambit won't die, it is the MARVEL universe after all!)

I was going to say about Wolverine getting blown up in the Civil War tie ins: I gave the trade a fairly good skimming. Very, very odd. They actually went back in the last issue of the plotline and tried to explain that Wolvie didn't almost instantly go from skeleton to healed, that a long amount of time had actually passed between panels in the "wolvie's a skeleton" scene and Wolvie was regenerating his insides first and then the skin on the outside grew back fast.

The problem is, that's NOT what it looks like happened in those panels. But the art's was so damn bad it was hard to tell what was going on in several instances. It's just a guess but I got a feeling the artist just got lazy and didn't draw what was in the script. Probably there was more of Wolvie than a skeleton or he was supposed to be healing while fighting Nitro afterwards instead of being "all better" instantly. Just a guess. Been cool as hell to see a skinless Wolverine attack Nitro.

It was in the Chuck Austen run of Uncanny X-Men

, I'm not really sure which issue it is because I couldn't find it. It's not that great. Austen's run on Uncanny was quite sucktacular.

Marvel has sucked since Queseda took over as EIC. How he got that job I'll never know. It's not like he had any qualifications.
