Lydia the Spider Alien
Moderators: Daniel Jackson, greg
We see a couple of things here:
First off, the spider alien that we saw was only in a few rare cases without bones. We even see in Solar in a number of places that the standard spider alien had bones.
The humanoid spider alien did have a certain ability to morph, Lydia's fingers and teeth are proof. Also remember spylock's back and forth morphing.
There are a couple of types of spider alien, all which seem to be related:
The biped (standard)
The 8-legged version (ie. queen)
The 8-legged warrior (wolf class armor)
any others?

Damn, another story idea squashed in its infancy. . .
By the way, Solar #16 (and Shadowman #0) aren't listed under her appearances on the main site, just the X-O's and Shadowman #1.
Hi.
The appearances list is far from complete, that's why it's missing some issues.

They're fairly complete (I'd say something like 80% even), but they do have holes.user1463 wrote:Thanks.ManofTheAtom wrote:

How complete are the appearance lists, 20%, 70%?
They don't cover every character and they don't cover every character's appearances.
I think that the site even has two appearances lists that can be accessed.
I've found links for some characters in individual issues that don't appear in the main character list, but if u click their name and then click the link to take u to the main list, it takes you to a list where that name appears.

Looks like using the search function and asking in a related thread looks like the best way to go though.
So, how did Lydia meet her demise in Solar #16 and was it indeed in Solar #16?

Toyo Harada had captured three Spider Aliens, including Lydia, and kept them chained in a cage in the basement of a hotel.
After Lydia told Solar how many aliens were in their base on the moon, he took pity on them and released their bonds. Later, when he returned to question then further, Solar saw one of the Spider Aliens eating Lydia.

Though I don't like it, this is what happened.IanAlexavier wrote:Yup, looks like she went back to get 'upgraded'..
Whats the deal with her wanting Jack anyways?? Was it just coincidence??
Also, who showed up at her place that scared her away?? Was it someone we know?
Having learned that the Coven had chosen Jack Boniface to be their next Shadowman, Master Darque asked the Spider Aliens to poison him so that he could not access the Darque power, which would make him useless for the Coven.
When Lydia bit Jack, her fangs injected the poison into his veins, but then she went too far and tried to kill him. That's when Darque (or the Spider Aliens, I forget which one) stopped her and took her away (again, moron. Why didn't he just kill him? lol)
To bypass Darque's meadiling, the Coven infused the blue mask Jack found with the Darque power to let him access the Necromantic pool.

CLARIFICATION Please!!!!!!

Torque
Ok, so I need some clarification. I've re-read Shadowman #1, and Solar #16, and in Solar #16 I don't see anywhere that it definitely says that the Spider Alien in the Humanoid Girl form in the Hotel Basement/Dungeon is actually Lydia; they never call her by that name, so could you clear up where you made that determination?dellamorte wrote:Yeah, I looked at Shadowman 0 and she has breasts so I don't know what to tell you. Did you look at the Solar issue where she dies? I think it's #16 or so.ManofTheAtom wrote:In Shadowman #1 she takes her clothes off and even while covered by shadows you can tell that she had breasts, which she didn't in X-O Manowar.dellamorte wrote:I think in Shadowman 0 she still has the Spider Alien body under the dress.
I haven't re-read all my Valiant Comics for some time so I must admit I'm probably missing another issue where they state that.
Also in Shadowman #1 why did Lydia stop attacking Jack when she drugged him once the light came up, what was that all about?
Also in Shadowman #1 Lydia responded to Jack's question as to what part of the country she was most recently from as: "Most Recently - - ? Northampton, Massachusetts!" Jack said "Cold up there!" and Lydia said "You have no idea...!"
Is there any Valiant story line taking place in Northampton, Massachusetts?

Re: CLARIFICATION Please!!!!!!
To answer your first point, the reason we know she was Lydia is because of her clothes. She was wearing the same thing she had on in X-O Manowar... and that answers your third question. The story in Massachusetts took place in X-O Manowar, where Lydia made her first apperance before she appeared in Shadowman.Torque wrote:

The answer to your second question is somewhere in this thread.

I think, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, that she was reacting to Aric's battle against the Harbinger kids depicted in X-0 #4.Torque wrote:Also in Shadowman #1 why did Lydia stop attacking Jack when she drugged him once the light came up, what was that all about?
