They did an excellent job recoloring the Harby HC so I don't see a problem with them recoloring any other issues. It's not like they have a choice in the matter, since the original art is scattered all over the world.

I agree with DJ. Excellent coloring on the harby HC.

After the reprint all the of the pre-unity stuff, I would like to see the material reprinted in the omnibus format however.

I hope the original material in the X-O hardcover "fixes" X-O 68. That would be perfect in my opinion.

As far as future HCs. I wouldn't mind seeing the rest of the pre-Unity stuff collected so that is available to new readers in an affordable format. The pre-Unity stuff [all titles] is a body of work that ranks among the very best that any comic company has ever produced.

I'll put my vote in for Rai for the next HC.

Unfortunately they would need to do more than just fix the last issue. The book veered off course waaaay before that last ridiculous story line.

True but some things are SO messed up that they can't be fixed  At the very least, if there is going to be a Valiant continuity of any kind, they have to fix the "it was all a dream" ending in X-O 68. I'm afraid that they are stuck with the bike and a few other embarassments.

Well, the other recourse is to start fresh with everything right after Unity. Shortly after that was when Jim was giving the ax and things started sliding downhill anyhow.

I'd say an A&A omnibus type book covering the BWS issues would be a better choice. I just reread the Rai tpb. Although it's ok, it's by no means the best read of Valiant.

That A&A would be super sweet! I wonder how difficult it would be to get a new BWS cover? :hm:

I would like to see them take a stab at finishing up Unity 2000 in HC form next. It would be great to get Jim Shooter involved and have him rewrite the last three issues as he would without involving Acclaim's agenda that the first one had.

Yeah, it would, but that would be a lot more than 8 new pages of story I would think.

Especially if he trashed the story of the last three issues and started over again. I would prefer they do it that way and perhaps they could use it to build some kind of bridge between the characters they intend to keep from the Acclaim years with the VH1 heroes.

Having recently re-read some VH 2 titles, I still see no reason to keep those comics as they were.

If VEI wants to use the VH 2 concepts, then they should reintroduce them into the VALIANT Universe the same way that VH 2 did with the original VALIANT characters, and you don't need a massive crossover event to do that.

Denny Meechum met VH 2 Colin King.

Zero met VH 2 Jack Boniface.

Helena Seleski read about VH 2 Aric Dacia.

Christine Helvin met VH 2 Pete Stanchek.

Quantum & Woody met VH 2 Toyo Harada.

The Harbinger one shot had the VH 2 Faith.

and so on and so forth.

Why not just turn it around and introduce the VH 2 characters that could work at VALIANT as VALIANT characters?

Donovan and Renata would work as videogame designers working for an Orb Industries subsidiary.

Denny Meechum could work at the comic store Faith gets her comics from.

There's no need to bring the VH 2 comics as they were published into VALIANT continuity.

VALIANT continuity doesn't handle stuff like the Trinity Angels, pseudo science of Troublemakers, the Unity aliens, the alien HARD Corps, or any of that other stuff.

Just recreate the VH 2 concepts that work with VALIANT as VALIANT concepts and be done with it.

VH 2 as it was published can be a comic book company within the VALIANT Universe.

What I'd like is to see VALIANT versions of the VH 2 corporations, like Angel Computers, G&G, etc, etc, etc. That's one thing that was severely lacking at VALIANT, they didn't have enough corporations for the conflict with Harada to really be called a war.

Erica dreamed everything that happened after Unity?

Or maybe a paradox created another timeline and Solar (or Erica if the rights to Solar are not aquired) discover that everything that happened after Unity is not right.

Not to be contary, but IMHO using the original to "fix" #68 would just serve to confuse new readers and be a waste of space for older ones. (I myself am perfect willing, able, and happy to simply ignore everything that happened in X-O after BirthQuake.--"Cannon" be darned.) (For that matter, I wouldn't mind if they simply jettisoned everything that happened after Unity and started "fresh" with the new line.)

For my money what I would like to see in the new 8(?) pages is a "fix" for issue "0". The "Let's cash in on X-O's popularity" one with the chromium cover really wasn't that good....

Picking after Unity still leaves cliffhangers left to resolve, so ignoring everything after Unity isn't the perfect solution everyone thinks it is.
