Broadway Comics help?

Comic universes no longer active, Bravura, Continuity, CrossGen, Future, Malibu, Ultraverse... and others that are 'no longer with us' today (or only recently brought back).

Broadway Comics help?

Post by MedicAR »

I knew about Broadway comics, but recently there was some talk on the boards about some of the books being rare and hard to find. What books are we talking about? I was on board from the beginning with Broadway and thought I had them all?!? :?

Is there a checklist anywhere, similar to the Valiant site?

Thanks in advance!
Doug

There used to be a checklist and resources for Broadway Comics, but it doesn't look like it's on the web anymore. The message board is still there, however so maybe you can still get a copy of the Broadway checklist from one of the posters over there. Here it is:

Hey, there!

They are harder to find in my local comic shop than the Defiants, but they still sell there for a buck each. I think you should be able to pick up most of them pretty cheap.

Hmm, that writer said Broadway comics was actually making money before they pulled the plug? Geez, that's weird. I'm not sure that's accurate, though.

Someone on another thread stated that Western Publishing now owns all the rights to Defiant and Broadway properties? Is that true? Can anyone verify with a link? If it is true, I wish Western would pick up the remaining Valiant/Acclaim rights too, and then approach Shooter. It'd be cool if he could work with all his properties together again. Ah, wishful thinking maybe.

A few years ago Wizard reported that Gold Key had bought Defiant and Broadway.

No idea if the current owner of the Gold Key properties (Random House I believe it's called or Classic Media) also has the rights to those two origins.

Man of the Atom-- Thanks for the list!

I know I have almost all of these, any idea what might be considered rare or special? None of these really stand out to me.....

that list from MOTA is basically just a list of their regular editions, most of which could be found cheaply. Here's a post from Defiant1s message board which is a COMPLETE checklist of what's out there, some of which are extremely hard to find. Don't be afraid to look, that board has many posters in common with this one:

I just bought some of these from Mile High; I got the Knights on Broadway and the Powers That Be, about a buck each, not too bad.

Also saw a Miracle on Broadway CGC 9.2 issue on MHC, listed for only $1,500 :o (half price from their regular $3,000 price tag :o ) and don't forget there's a 20% off sale too so that makes it ONLY $1,200!!
:o
:hm:
