Is the Visitor worth reading?

Post by ncameron »

I only ask because I noticed that Harbinger was not as interesting to me without Sting. As he was your entry point in that book, the quasi-Cyclops of the VU(leader filled with doubt and questionable motives) losing him as the books lead after 25 issues was quite shocking.

***Spoiler Alert***
highlight if you want me to ruin the surprise
When I heard later that he returned as the Visitor, im now quite curious. Worth reading?

Visitor is my favorite Valiant series, mainly for the same reason some on here don't like it. It's very comic booky with its bright colors and dialogue. It isn't like the other Valiant books where the hero examines what he's doing (Harbinger, Solar, X-O Man-O-War, etc.) It's about the Vis finding out who the bad guy is and then fighting him. If you come in with an open mind and don't compare it to the other Val titles, you'll enjoy it greatly IMHO.

Also, I feel it has the best art of any other Valiant series

It was very good visually, but not "classic" Valiant Art, more "classic" Image.

I liked it, but I just think that more could have been done with it.

But, of course, you should read it, and if you don't have it you can get it without dropping much cash.

Really it was as far as you could get from a Valiant title, I didn't care for it much at all.

I thought the art in Mirage was better than Visitor.

I thought the writing in SLoDM was much better than in the Visitor.

I liked the story and the idea, but I was not impressed with everybook that was published and a lot of little parts of the story line. I would definitely read the series because it is very entertaining.

The final two issues were actually pretty good. Had a classic Valiant feel to them.
