I'm sure that some stores didn't like having to add on another vendor when they are used to using just Diamond. My shop didn't order any from VEI (which means that the 4 stores in the chain didn't get any and there probably weren't many, if any sold in the bay area). I think Diamond dropping the book really killed sales.muzzsucker wrote:xodacia81 wrote:My local stores are still giving me grief over this. I'm ready to break down and direct order.
Whats the reasoning behind not wanted to special order for you?
Any word on litigation? It has been a while.......

The store that I usually go to, the one that always seems to come through for me, did. They even got an extra copy, which I snatched up. One to read, one to keep sealed forever. I may go back to the store and offer to let them display the HC-my open copy-in order to create some buzz. Oh yes, I did get a deal. Including tax, my two copies, with discount, were 33.98 and I couldn't be happier. As for why the other stores were being jerks, I think it goes back to the personality, or lack thereof, of the owners.

Some speculation about it at this podcastsiren3-4 wrote:What is the word on the X-O HC being sold through Diamond ??
There is no dispute about who owns X-O so there should be no problem . . . right ?

- If you gave Aric hugs and kisses, would it be XOXO X-O?

The direct market is dying and perhaps it is for the best. Amazon's sales alone are probably a better gauge of success than Diamond for any bound "comic book."400yrs wrote:I'm sure that some stores didn't like having to add on another vendor when they are used to using just Diamond.
