I know this may pi$$ some of yall off but I downloaded the whole set of VH1 universe off of the net. If someone would like a copy on disk let me know. I am willing to trade out for some comics that I am missing. 8-)

I mean cmon.... If VEI was getting some boost from my purchase of back issues I would not do this, but....they arent making a dime off of the 1000 plus dollars that I have spent on Ebay in the last 3 months.

It's not yours. It doesn't belong to you. You didn't pay for it.

That makes it...........?

I agree.

And offering to trade them for comics you need is worse.

It would be different if you had the electronic copies as backups for your hard copies. I THINK that is legal, but I do not know for sure. I am not a copyright or trademark lawyer. :P

I think if you'd come on here giving them away there wouldn't have been any problem.

Neither am I but it does not really matter if you have the whole set or not. If you/he made the backups for your personal use, that would be fine. Downloading them or buying them is illegal. I had to hear about it since I bought the whole set on CD-ROM some time ago and tried to do the same thing he is doing. We had this debate awhile back about copyrights and file sharing and what not. Roms as well. You make the backups for your use, great. Anything else,.

That's correct. You can't distribute what you don't own... even for free.

If you actually own one copy of the comics, you can sell, giveaway, or burn that one copy.

If you don't own two, you can't keep one and give one away.

If you don't own 100, you can't keep one and give 99 away.

Just because it's "free" doesn't mean it's legal.

Even if it's tolerated (and celebrated) elsewhere,
it won't be going on here. It's not worth it.
