sweet deal, how was the condition? Those Vol. 3 Shadowman issues with the black backgrounds seem to be pretty tough in NM or better, most copies I've found have had a spine stress mark or two.

Admittedly its only VF+ it has a couple of stress marks on the spine but looks perfect otherwise.

.

I've noticed the same thing with the Shadowman and some other later Acclaim. The type of paper they used on these sure makes them more susceptible to damage along the spine. grrrrr....

I didn't know that the Upper Deck Deathmate series had a Pyramid Promo. I thought the Pyramid Promo was the same as the Upper Deck Hologram, which came out with the Valiant Era 1 cards, to commemorate VE1 as the first card set produced by Upper Deck under the new Pyramid logo. I do know that Topps was to produce a Deathmate card set for the Image Red & Black issues that was cancelled, with the exception of a Promo card. What am I missing here about this Pyramid Promo?

PS---Great deal on the cards, BTW! :)---Steve

**my first Valiant find**

I was at a used bookstore in Hollywood yesterday and found X-0 59, 60, and the final issue in a dollar bin. The final issue was even in a bag/backboard and was in good shape.

What's this thread doing on page 2? BUMP!

Just hit a local comic shop here on Long Island and spent about an hour in their back issue bins down in their basement. 104 books later at $.65 per copy and I've got a nice haul!

CEAR!! The ONLY copy I've ever found in a shop!
Shadowman vol3 1-5 (2x #5)
Unity 2000 2 sealed in poly
Harbinger 6 (x2), 7 and 41
Shadowman vol1 #s 2, 3 and 43 (x2)
Rai 33 (x2)
Bloodshot Last Stand
Bloodshot Vol2, about 8 issues including the # 1 variant
Trinity Angels 1 variant (x2)
Troublemakers 1 variant
Magnus vol1 8-11, 13, 14 and 60-64 (x2 each final 5 iss)
Solar vol1 6, 10 (second print), 11, and 58-59 (x2 each)
(Solar) Man of the Atom (x2)
Original Turok 1 & 2
Original Solar 1
Original Magnus 1
Turok Vol2 1-4
5 or 6 Turok one-shots
Eternal Warriors vol2 1 variant
EW Wings of Justice
EW Fist & Steel 1
X-O Manowar vol1 1
X-O Manowar vol2 1 and 1 variant
X-O Manowar Operation Stormbreaker
Quantum & Woody about 10 issues
Outcast Special
Punx, 3 of the 4 issues
Armorines vol2 1-3 (x2 #s 1 and 2)

I think that's it. All issues bagged, not boarded, but not too many stresses on any of the spines. I would say 90% are solid NM and better. The CEAR is going into CGC, I expect a 9.4, should be worth grading at that level. We'll see!

Might be time for another board exclusive sale!

WTG!! Such an exciting moment (one I have yet to feel as I've NEVER found a CEAR raw) now I gotta get off my duff and find some.

Good luck on the CEAR, that would be a nice one to get 9.4+ :thumb:

ps. Do the Harbie's have coupons?

Thanks!

Finding the CEAR was as exciting as the first Harby 0 pink I found two and a half years ago!

The Harby 6s both have coupons, the Magnus 8 has its coupons too.

haven't been on here in a long while, but I thought this was a decent deal:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 2293987797

At $41.00 shipped, it works out to be $4.56 each for nine NM Harbinger issues with coupons and two NM Harbinger #7's thrown in for free.

Brother J, that's a great deal, I just received the following from the same seller:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEWN:IT

It was missing the Magnus 3 which the seller has promised to send to me,
the books were in great shape when I received them otherwise.

My latest deal was scoring the Diamond retailers previes for 12.95 each. The shop had them and since they weren't in overstreet or wizard he said, "Well hows about 12.95 like a regular tpb?" So I said "Well, I have a set but could use another!"

HA!!!!! Sucker

Here's a VF/NM CEAR that I'm selling this week. I decided to upgrade my copy instead of CGCing the better copy and selling it. Thanks!

Sadly, I have a mental block with paying obscene prices for modern books. I just can't bring myself to do it. So, unless I can get the CEAR for like $15-$20, I just can't.

It took me five YEARS of watching MM #15 sell for $50-$100 to FINALLY buy a complete set for $75. ;) And believe you me, it hurt to do that. The 'look, dumbass, you can SELL the rest of the set for $75 and KEEP the damn #15 for FREE. DUH!' effect finally kicked in. Even if I KNOW I can flip it on the 'bay for more, I still have a tough time paying more than *I* want to pay for modern books.

I do, however, have large SWATHS of killer Gold, Silver, and Bronze that I would be willing to TRADE for a CEAR. ;)
