What I am arguing about is someone retaining their consciousness, the ability to think, while in that state. That someone who is somehow transformed into energy can suddenly control themselves in that form, or that they can suddenly control all forms of energy.

We do know that the brain does its work with energy. How that ties into "consciousness" or self-awareness is not known and so it is fair to speculate that consciousness could tie into energy somehow. The question of control is a separate issue. Even if self-aware, how could a being of pure energy interact with the rest of the universe? Since such a being is purely speculative, you can't really say what the capacities of such a being would, or would not, be.

Doesn't the human brain contain an electrical charge that keeps it alive?

or something like that.

Explain! :D
smart as@...basically instead of following the classical laws of mechanics and using bit operators of 0 and 1 and each bit is physically active somewhere in the computer...a quantum computer uses qubits which can rest in a state of 0, 1 or both simultaneausly...allowing for many things to be happening at the same instant...rather than at different instances... :P

maybe Chiclo can explain more...

I at least understood the Dilbert explanation more. ;)

In a quantum computer, because of the additional state, it is much more powerful since it can add a third level of operating power, right? (in theory? or has this actually been applied?)

Except that the brain isn't JUST energy. It is also neurons. The energy is transmitted between the cells, so presumably "thought" and "consciousnes" involve those cell to some degree.

I didn't forget. I just thought that using an anatomically INcorrect doll was a bad idea. You were just too impatient and couldn't wait till I hooked the good doll.
