I don't think they got a bad deal, but not necessarily a great deal though.

That was my thoughts. They paid a decent amount for some decent books.

I probably wouldn't pay that much.

Yeah, if you didn't have them already it would make it a little better deal, but not if there just buying them for extras.

Three things

1. I was hoping there was one person who would think this.
superman-prime wrote:they paid the value of not having to hunt all of those down
2. I needed $200 NOW and I didn't want to sell any unity reds.

3. All this talk about rhettlori was making me nervous.

I almost set it at $250. Don't know if it would have worked or not, but I knew this would.

Oh and I didn't offer 'em here first cause I know you're all cheap like me.

Ya I bought them ... exactly for the reason above, and I need 13 of the 18 listed. Screw trying to win each one last minute, plus shipping for each book.

I've been a lurker here for a long long long time. But I just realized I had to re-register and login to see all these other forum threads (such as Auction Central). Now I'll attempt to re-sell the dupes later, and even post what I need here.

Rock on! Welcome to the bored!

It's not a bad price to pay for those books by any means, even if it is higher than some of us would pay.

not higher than me. I consider it a steal once you add shipping in. But i was an idiot and bought my from ebay instead of from members. Good to see that this auction was from both. LOL

Yes there is quite the community here, and I've watched it grow and grow over the years (even w/o posting). Honestly I haven't even really read any of the books in a long time. It's the memories that count, and these books are my silver age.

As I told rlute11 the seller, I was your typical mid-90's high school comic collector who stopped in 2000 when I needed the money to pay for university. VH1 crashing didn't help either. But the world of speculation also took over ... too many #1's/variants, high cover prices, art over storytelling, Wizard sleeping with Image ... all drove me away. And now at 31, most of my money is needed elsewhere as it is.

However, I still wanna complete my collection, slowly, and we all wanna Valiant return. But it takes time, money, patience, and the right vision for things to happen, so maybe VEI can do it. Jim Shooter, where are you?

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

ILAN
