Gauntlet was cool, but I hated when the elf would run around and steal all the food.

Infinity Gauntlet was my first TPB and established Thanos as my number one favourite fictional character of all time.

Crusade was a phoned-in ending to a trilogy that was more of a cash cow than anything else.

Thanos is one of my favorite villains. Right up there with Doom.

Why'd you leave the Infinity War out? I feel that was better than the gauntlet and the crusade.

Did anyone also happen to read the Infinity Abyss?

Was that one with the Egyptian guy who amassed ultimate power?

The Infinity War was a good continuation of the Infinity Gauntlet. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was better than IG, probably because IG was so special to me.

Infinity Abyss featured a small band of heroes - Spiderman, Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel and Warlock, Gamora and Pip squaring off against a series of Thanos clones, including one designed specifically to defeat Galactus. Thanos ends up cleaning up his mess and humbles a couple of the assembled heroes. The mini-series featuring Akhenaten, the long-lost Egyptian Pharoh, was Marvel: The End.

Infinity Abyss was pretty weak. There was also an Avengers: Celestial Quest released within the last 5 years that was pretty weak but featured Thanos. Marvel: The End was really good and it lead right into the 12 issue Thanos series that was really what got me back into buying comics on a monthly basis. After Infinity Crusade, Thanos was featured in the 12 or so part cross-over called Blood and Thunder that featured one of his better fights to date against Odin and a 6 issue mini-series called Cosmic Powers that was really good. After that, no one really wrote any good Thanos stories. There was a several issue run in Captain Marvel around 2002 that was fun, but that was it until The End for good Thanos stuff.

And don't forget Thanos Quest. It was a 2 issue prestige format mini that basically set the stage for all the Infinity minis. I was the beginning of his quest for the gems that would eventually become the gauntlet and, I believe, started established his love for death.

His love for Death went way back.

He was killing half the Universe off for her in the mid-70s.

THAT mini was awesome! I loved how they showed Thanos' intellect was even more dangerous than his raw power.

I really liked the Infinity Gauntlet too. I bought them all off the rack as a kid, and I have read that series quite a few times. To me it is like watching a favorite movie over and over again.

Never read any of the other infinity titles though. By the time they came out I was pretty much done with Marvel.

Yea I remembered picking up Infinity Guantlet off the racks during the 90's. I really enjoyed it, but I never got the chance to read Wars and Crusade.

Gauntlet was the best, just as annihilation was the best.

The knockoffs afterwards were just horrible!

This thread reminds me that I still need to pick up copies of Thanos Quest. I still have never read that.

Thanos quest was great. But, you also have to get the giant-size two in one where Thanos kills Adam warlock and is in turn killed. Fits in nicely with TQ!!!
