Another "Dead Universe"
Event Comics is no longer publishing anything. Series like Ash are dead. Even their website is dead---there's nothing on it, it's a dead link.
So this company should be added to the DU list.

yep, the original Painkiller Jane title was put out by Event, I picked a copy of the first issue out of a cheap bin when I heard about the TV show.Knightt wrote:As well as a Painkiller Jane tv show... but is PJ under the Event lable ?Brian Thomer wrote:One could argue that the Event "universe" survives in Dynamite's PAINKILLER JANE comic.

The current PAINKILLER JANE series is published by Dynamite and is by original creators (and Event founders) Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti.
I guess it depends on your definition of "universe". If by that word you mean the company that produced the books, then, yes, I'd agree that Event Comics is currently dead. If by "universe" you're referring to the world in which the characters published by a particular company inhabit, then there's an argument that that "universe" still exists in the PAINKILLER JANE series. I only have the #0 issue of the current series, but it's my understanding that the current series is a continuation of the Event series (supported by the fact that Dynamite recently released a trade collecting the Event issues).
And, I believe, the TV show was cancelled (unless it was somehow revived).

I'll end up posting a Event DU thread/list here soon. To me it is a dead universe until I see a comic with the Event lable on it. I am not going to get wrapped around the axel in semantics on whether something is dead or not... bottom line, no more Event comics as of this time. Fits the bill for me. This could also be the housing facility for the 'odd-ball' comic collections that we lean towards.
