Just curious...I've been with DCBS for a month and I'm extremely happy with them. For September my regular titles would have cost me $106, but with DCBS it's going to be $61 and that's with weekly shipping. Just curious as to where you guys are getting your comics.

I used to buy from milehighcomics.com. They are out of Denver, and I'm in Bama. Lately I've only bought TPBs from Amazon. Free shipping on large orders!

I order my comics from previews using my LCS. But I am seriously thinking of switching to mail order. At least for the more expensive items. Those discounts are becoming harder to resist and my LCS has been slipping a lot lately.

When I did buy new comics I used Impulse Creations. 30% off all new releases. I liked them. Individually bagged and boarded. Good stuff.

LCS. There are cheaper ways to get comics, this is clear, but there's a genuine sense of community within my LCS which is worth far more to me than a couple fof quid* a month.

*British for Pounds Sterling (in case the UK slang threw anyone)

For new comics, Midtown Comics, and for back issues, either Lone Star for specific issues or eBay for bulk/runs. Sounds like discounts are more substantial with the subscription sites people are naming, but until I sell my house and move, I'd prefer not to commit to issues that are months away. I don't have a convenient LCS so that's not an option for me.

Yeah, I just recently switched from ComicsNow! subscribtion service to a LCS I recently found in my area. ComicsNow! was great (and much less expensive), but visiting a LCS weekly makes for some great father and son time. :thumb:

My comic book stores. I live in chicago so theres a ton of them. Right now I have two stores that are pulling the original run for me. I'm trying to hone my skills to be a comic book artist and I would love to work for Valiant.

what is this DCBS? I must check them out, on one of my last bank statements, I added up $200+ spent at LCS, and I'd probably spent a good $50 at the flea market.

Yeah, when I ordered the Harby HC, my LCS only gave me a 10% discount (which didn't exactly thrill me). I was going to order 3 from him, but after seeing the discounts DCBS gives I ended up ordering two from them and only one from my local guy.

Yeah, sense of community or not, I'm going where I can save 40% on my books. The specials are what amaze me. Marvel Comics Presents #1 is a 3.99 book and they have it for 99 cents. The New Marvel Zombies is 74 cents. Authority Prime #1 is also 74 cents.

And there's usually some indie for 54 cents that is fun to give a try.

The only new comics I've bought in the last 13 years have been copies of the Vertigo title Testament from my lcs purchased over the last year or so. I stopped by every 2-3 months during the #1-12 run but have since stopped reading even that. The release of the Harby hardcover has brought me back. The store is an hour away, but if my business helps bring public recognition to VEI then it will be worth the effort.

I'm currently using DCBS but once WWH is over I'm most likely going back to Discount bins at my LCS and E-Bay. Its just too darn expensive to buy new stuff for what I can get back issue wise either on E-Bay or Discount box wise :thumb:

All of my comics come from the sky. I go outside and make a "wish" the clouds open up and cherubs bring me comics.
