At least Greg's comments are still up. They just deleted a bunch of Troy Brownfield's posts in the same thread. And that's one of Matt's guys. Things are getting rough over there.

Valiantman knows who Matt listens to... can anyone guess who is Newsarama's legal counsel?

Wow, just how deep does the rabbit hole go?
Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Where there's an article about Valiant properties that spends more time letting
a lawyer with zero copyrights complain about supposedly "mean fans",
there's an article writer who doesn't care about Valiant copyrights and fans.
That guy is like a bad penny...

Barnes and Noble are having a delay in shipping the hardcover, but they claim it will be shipped in the new few days. We'll see... :(

Just found this posted at Newsarama a short time ago...

UPDATE!!!!?????????????????????????

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Uh, on my invoice for next week it says that my orders for the Harbringer HC that had previously cancelled are reinstated... Does anyone know what this means? Will we get a followup? Anyone from Diamond care to comment?

Anyone heard anything different today? I'll try calling my lcs about it later.

The same thing showed up on my invoice as well. I don't have any further insight into exactly what it means. I am often confused by Diamond's cancellation/reinstatement notices.

EDIT: Okay, I never checked for myself when it was canceled, but I have seen numerous people say that the Harbinger HC was not showing up as an orderable item. I just checked now, and it is showing up in searches and when I click on the order button it shows up as "Order Increase" which is what shows up for upcoming releases.

From Newsarama:

UPDATE: Several stores have told Newsarama that the Harbinger HC has appeared on their Diamond invoices for books due in next week. When contacted by Newsarama, Diamond VP - Purchasing Bill Schanes told Newsarama that the change in status was a mistake which has since been resolved. [Shipment of the book] is still on hold pending legal dispute being resolved. Our PO to them [VEI] is on hold pending a resolution of this matter. Diamond doesn’t discuss any legal dispute for publication." Asked to clarify, and if this meant that the book would not be in stores next week, Schanes said, "Correct."

translation: They will take orders, but arent gonna ship anything until the dispute is resolved.

makes ya wonder if (God forbid) the dispute goes VIP's way (which due to Greg's excellent analysis, it probably wont) whether Diamond would ship at all...

Too many sales for the Amazon system to confirm at one time (unanticipated orders).
The system automatically raised the price to cover themselves in the event of unavailability.

Not to worry, there are plenty of books printed, Amazon just needs
to let VEI know how many they want and they'll be on their way.
:thumb:

(..and then they can lower the price again.) :hope:

Sweeet. Just went to my lcs today where I had it ordered and had to explain to him the thing with diamond and why it didn't ship. He said Bob Hall didn't even know about that (yes Bob Hall goes to my lcs  ). Still waiting to see how this plays out a bit, but I can't wait to get my hands on a HC. The worst thing about all this is that it's turned what should be a time of celebration for us fans into a time of confusion and frustration. I'm ready to celebrate this great book myself and let everything else work itself out. Great work VEI and keep it up :thumb:

I'm gonna do that come payday... I supposedly have one coming from Amazon, they just won't say when. Either way, I wanted a second copy so it can play the race to see which one gets here first... :)

My amazon order says it is going to ship in 4-6 weeks. Hopefully it will be much sooner than that.

I edited my above post because, after waking up and rereading it, I immediately realized it was way out of bounds. I feel very passionately about the whole VEI/VIP legal conflict and I let my emotions get the better of me (all the beers didn't help). I apologize to those who read it and to the individual I attacked in my post. It was irresponsible behavior on my part and I regret it.

Yeah, it wasn't that bad, but I went ahead and edited the two other quotes that were trapped since it was bothering you.
