Defiant's "Schism"?

Comic universes no longer active, Bravura, Continuity, CrossGen, Future, Malibu, Ultraverse... and others that are 'no longer with us' today (or only recently brought back).

Defiant's "Schism"?

Post by Lightning Strike »

So I'm flipping through a Defiant comic I got for .33 cents today and there's an ad for an upcoming Defiant series called "Schism". Was this one of those advertised series that never got published or did I miss something? :?

Schism was going to be Defiant's first major crossover which IIRC Jim Shooter saying that it would've ended with the bad guys winning and the Defiant heroes becoming a resistance movement.

Sadly other than Warriors of Plasm #13 and Dogs of War #5, no other of the crossover issues of any of the Defiant series was published and neither was the 4 part Schism mini-series as well.

I always get bummed out reading about Schism because I really wanted it to happen. I don't have a good connection at home, but when I get back to school next week, I'll try and up the Schism #1 art.

No, I am sorry but this is not the book but a promotional card that is oddly enough cut in half at a zig zag cut.

I have another Schism promo card set signed by Shooter back home and in a mere 15 days when I can GO back home I will post it as well.

Sigh. I remember waiting that whole summer for Schism to come out, waiting every single week for the first issue to ship. When August came and went with no Schism, I realized something had gone wrong, and then heard about Defiant collapsing. It was so frustrating, Schism would have been a great story.

Never say never.

If Valiant prove to be a success (again) then someone with the money and contacts might think: "Isn't there another Jim Shooter universe out there that I can get a hold of?" and then you could have a Defiant and/or Broadway rebirth as well.

I'd almost be willing to bet a three cent nickel that that revival would be headed by Dynamite.

I would said IDW since they seem to reviving a lot more comic book universes like: Transformers, Jon Sable, Freelance, Grimjack, Badger, Angel, Doctor Who, The Fallen Angel, and others.

most of those are former First Comics that were in litigation...has that ended?
