Anyone know a good way to authenticate one of these? I've run across one (possibly) but never having seen another, real or counterfeit, I'm not sure what to look for.

It has a cardstock cover with no red foil or holo-webs on it. I saw one at a show, back when it was first discovered, but I never bought it ($300!!). I heard a whole case of these were sent to a comic store somewhere in Arizona back when it first came out in 1993. I have a Gold Edition, which looks great! It's a badass cover! :)

There are counterfiet Venom Black covers out there. I believe the real version has a blue marvel logo in the price box. Anyone able to back me up on this?

I thought the Venom mini was a HUGE disappointment...I bought the first issue and didn't bother with the rest because #1 was so mediocre. Given that Venom is such a cool character, it was hard to believe they could make such a tepid comic with him in it...

The venom black counterfiet has the blue/black marvel sign on it and the real one has a all blue marvel sign. Here check it out on this site http://www.comicspriceguide.com/p-issues.asp?t_ID=3533

I wonder how they make counterfeit black covers?
