Re: VEI's Next Project Poll
I'd buy it. Then again, Valiant and Acclaim are fresh on my mind and I wouldn't have to try to remember a very obscure and uncommonly read mini-series from 7 years ago when I was reading it.Lightning Strike wrote:How many of us would actually buy a Unity 2000 HC if it included the entire 1-6 set recolored and with a new short story that fit in with this storyarc?
I would. Just saying.
The thing about releasing either Unity - sure we all remember these characters. They need to re-build the mythos or at least remind the general comic buying public of the mythos before undertaking something as complex and ambitious as Unity. Maybe for the fifth or sixth hardcover, but not the second.

as for U2k HC, id buy it if it came with "ORIGIN OF THIS STORYS CRAPPY ENDING". who came up with the idea to kill off all the Valiant characters anyway?

the captain america ones were always pretty cool

What is the reasoning behind the issuing of a Harby HC?
I mean, why not issue a TPB with short story, a la XO Database, or RAI companion?
I think that the HC reprint w/ new story is for all us fans out here. Kinda like a "Thank you" for hanging in there over the last 10 years.
That said, publishing something new, in terms of monthly ongoing titles is in order. After all, they need to get additional readers into the fanbase, and kids under the age of 15 aren't necessarily going to have $25 to drop on a Harby HC.
I like the idea of "sneaking in" a monthly title without any fanfare, with the (hopeful) result of early harby / rai back issue value increases
I'm for a monthly title, or even a quarterly "flip book" style of title with multiple new stories in it.
Could you imagine a TPB style comic, quarterly, with say 3-4 original stories, in tight continuity with each other, and a price tag of $9.99 - $12.99?

I'll say of the options a follow up to the original harby series.
surprises me a lot of ppl just want a repackaged x-o. sure it'd be nice but i'd love to see some new stories
I didn't pick it, but I would like to see the Unity 2000 finished. I guess I'm just a sucker that way. I'm sure it's going to be the X-O hardcover though. As much as I would like to see new material, I see them testing the waters for a few more trades.
