Thanks to Slym on the temporary stopgaps on the way to completion. I promise that I will pass them along as soon as I get suitable replacements. I wouldn't even consider holding onto them for any longer than I have to............... because it wouldn't be fair to those that may need these issues in their collection.
So...... I am still looking for Rai 2 and 3 and will need to update my "needs list" to reflect this.
BTW, that's two more down, Doc Solar.
And Slym is not an *SQUEE*.

Yes.slym2none wrote:Well, I never advertised that I needed them much. As I have stated elsewhere, I sold all my commons for between 10 cents and a quarter apiece, so I am trying not to pay but that much for them back. I actually think Elveen PM'd me about what I was still missing...ThrillKillWill wrote:What?! I always assumed you had them all. Not that I have a bunch but I have passed over some in bins that I may have picked up if I would have known.slym2none wrote:Got the rest of my Rai run today, unasked for and unexpected, from Elveen.
Thanks a bunch! Dude, you rock!!!

Big ups to Hobo. I bought quite a few books from him and he sent me plenty to go with them. All of the books arrived in pristine shape and quite promptly. Once again I have to say the the board surprises me everyday. The generosity on these boards knows no bounds. Thank you.
Now to get rid of these other books to make room for these beauties.

Hobo did something wonderful for me.
I bought something from his last sale that I needed for my VH1 run.
He also included quite an extra for me. But this was not just some random book. It is this.....

Now this book is very cool for anyone to get but.....
Last year (yes, last year) I posted a thread about my childhood comic collection. This was one of the books included. Hobo, PMed me, told me that he was going to a Show and he thought that a guy there might have it. We talked and he said tha the would see if he could get it for me. Well, the dudes did not have the book at the show. Hobo called me and told me "sorry, dude". More than anything it was the thought and effort that was cool.
Now fast forward to over a year later. I buy a small thing from him, and in the mail is the last book that I needed for my childhood collection of Treasury sized books. In the back of his mind, he always remembered that I needed this book. Somewhere he found one and sent it to me.
I know that most of us, got "extras" and I don't want to seem like I am "showing off", cause what ever "extra" some dudes got, that is GREAT, it's AN EXTRA! But this was more.
It was personal, it is a small part of my childhood returned to me.
Thank you Hobo. Thank you.

Sweet! My eyes are gonna hurt from reading by the end of the week.Chiclo wrote:Oh, you might be able to rub together a few runs of 1 - 12 or so by the end of the week.ThrillKillWill wrote:Thanks to ticktuck. Sent me a ton of Ultraverse books. I will read what I can if I have pieced together enough to get a 1-5 or so. We'll see if the DU bug bites.
Well the books came in and I can't believe the amount of stuff that I got from C-Lo. It will take me a plenty of hours to get through all these things.

So I got a treasure chest from my friend C-lo. All I can say is the best way to describe it is in pounds of comics.
Most that I have never seen before. A wide range of different books. I am looking forward to going exploring.
(but if I get hooked on another DU, I might be in serious trouble)
C-lo, thank you my friend. A very nice and kind gesture.

Stone384 needs to get some major kudos.
He won my CF auction that I put up to help pay for the extras Knightt needed.
Now for those of you that had your eye on the books, I have good news for you. Next year the same books that Stone won will be available during the CF auctions. Mr.384 asked if I would give the books he "bought" to Knightt, which I have done.
Of course, Stone already sent the winning donation to Knightt.
So he pulled the ole' buy-the-books-but-not-want-them-but-still-give-the-money trick.
And I think he might have done this for a few other auctions he won, call it a hunch.
Stone384, well done good friend.
