Here's hoping the new hardback allows the boys at VEI to buy all three trademarks (or at least Solar and Magnus).

I would imagine big money if a publisher like Random House owns them.
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

Yeah, that could be trouble. No worries though.....since VEI still has the Phil Seleski character to build around until acquiring the GK rights becomes a viable possibility.

And they also have Magnus's son Torque and the Fireseed family from Turok they could use if they so desire.

I'd like VE to use Phil without his costume for awhile, and anytime he introduces himself he can just say "call me Doctor", as a reference to the "Doctor Solar" name.

I think that would work as well. I actually liked the early Valiant Seleski non costumed version of Solar just as much as the one with the red suit.

I think he liked himself that way, as well. The costume made him feel like 'god' physically, so not wearing it may have helped him early on.

-slym (remembers the cover to Solar #1 - Phil, not the costume)
Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

The costume may have made him feel like a god physically but your comment led me to wonder - how do male heroes in spandex <ahem> cover the fact that at times they may be observably <ahem> feeling frisky?

I am glad that this is a topic that has never come up in the funny books before. Now that you mention it they are around some rather scantily clad women most of the time and never seem to have this problem. This may be the reason why so few Super heroes have any children. E.D. anyone? Intereseting to find out which superheroes have kids and what sort of costumes they wore around the time of conception, loose or tight. Perhaps the loose costume worked to hide the "happier times."

I bet The Savage Dragon popped wood a few times... otherwise, most "emergency situations" have you thinking about anything but sex, unless the woman is naked.

Then, all rules are off.

-slym (feels 'sorry' for Cyclops, what with Jean Grey and then Emma Frost)

Well regarding the tight costumes and kids theory, tight underwear is supposed to slow down or reduce the number of a man's 'little swimmers'....so those writers may have been onto something.

Didnt seem to bother me any....

Maybe the heroes suffer from blunt-force testicular trauma?

Seeing how this thread seems to be focussing on the male heroes, what about the female heroes?

Why do we never know what issues they are on their cycle? Does it depend on the shipment week?

Maybe they have all had hysterectomies?
