Re: Final issues galore
I'm still not convinced that you don't buy these comics seperately and place them together for the pictures. But man I love your pictures.Escaflown4 wrote:Just really wanted to share with you the Valiant books I received today from several different sellers.

I'm normally not one to post my discoveries, but I felt proud of my latest haul. KTF boys and girls, there are still deals to be had.
All a deer skin,
Magnus 0, no card
Chaos Effect Gold x3
X-O 1
Solar 59
Bloodshot 47,48
Magnus 64 x2
EW #50
For a total of 11 deer skins.
Shadowman V3 # 2 (good ,bad,ugly variant)5,6 $2.00 each
Magnus 0, no card $7.00
Maybe I'm crazy, but, to me, everything after the thrill of finding treasured books is a bit of a let down. I get all giddy when I find them, then after I buy them, they get boarded and filed away in a box.

It's not crazy. It's a rather natural thing. I've heard a lot of people who said that they enjoyed the thrill of the hunt more than the acquisition.GJB wrote:I'm normally not one to post my discoveries, but I felt proud of my latest haul. KTF boys and girls, there are still deals to be had.

YES! That is exactly how I feel Spider! I edited my last post to make a little more sense, but the joy is definitely in the hunt for me.The Spider wrote:

I took a little trip east (Ohio) and found Unity 2000 1 & 2, Armorines Vol2 1-3 S.M. Vol3 1 & 4 and N.I.O. #1 for $7.00. Me thinks that not be too bad. Was more excited just to dig them out of the boxes than seeing the price. It IS all about the thrill of the chase, not the kill. (Not that the kill ain'y too shabby either

Cool! I love finding VH2 nuggets. I pick up NIOs whenever I see them (not sure why), although I've never seen one anywhere for more than a couple of bucks.OneArmedBandit wrote:I took a little trip east (Ohio) and found Unity 2000 1 & 2, Armorines Vol2 1-3 S.M. I think it has a lot to do with the print run numbers that Greg has listed here. If they are absolutely correct, then the NIO books are actually rarer than the gold books from the VH1 run. Sure, they'll likely never be as much in demand, but the miniscule print runs should mean these books aren't found laying around all the time in bargain boxes, so when you do find them, the urge is to snap them up. I'm not actively collecting the Acclaim/VH2 stuff, but I often find myself snatching up the harder to find issues when I can find them cheaply.I pick up NIOs whenever I see them (not sure why), although I've never seen one anywhere for more than a couple of bucks.

Well it's been a few days now and I'm able to write this without being too excited and sounding a bit too bragadocious.
We had our annual convention
(http://www.seattlecomicardconvention.com/)
which I arrived late too around 2:30. I wasn't expecting to find anything good at that hour so I took the whole family along to experience their first convention.
Wearing my chronic hat (handmade Tanzania) and my brand spankin new Valiant Polo I hit the first bin to see what Valiant finds where waiting. It turned out the first table was run by an old convention acquaintance who was all to happy to inform me he'd pulled all his Valiant and clued me in on how HOT they now were! So, I wished him luck and clued him in that he's about 2 years late on his discovery.
So on to the next booth, only a few feet from the first. I ask the guys if they have any Valiant. Now I *SQUEE* you not, at the exact moment I asked him if he had any Valiant, his partner says to me "Yea, I'm donating some to charity right here." Amazed, I asked them if it would be ok if I browsed the box to see if they had anything I needed. After promising the charity they'd still get the bulk of the books they handed em over to me. 25 cents each. If I had been even another minute late all of the books would have been donatated to kids!!! OMG NOOO, hahaha! I feel good they still got the good reads, I just spared them the Variants =)
I think the pic speaks for it's self. The first booth saw exactly what I pulled. Nothing better than rubbing it in their face when they're being greedy.

In all I got:
Unity Red NM
A&A Gold VF+
Mag 21 Gold NM
Mag 12 NM
Solar 1 NM
XO 57-68 NM
half dozen Unity Chapters NM
EW 49,50 Wings of Justice NM
(few other misc books)
Total $6
The only other booth with anything had Harbie 1-5 NM w/coupons for $30 which I couldn't pass up.
I left the convention very pleased.

Dood! That's a huge score! And the picture makes me feel like I was a part of it. So therefore, you owe me half the find. Right?

Is it just me or is soundoftheuniverse's teeth ultra white? I think he did some photo shop editing there. Since your so tall, I bet you get asked if you play basketball all the time. Lord, I must hear that 2 times a month from complete strangers myself.
