Not really sure if this is a Dead Universe but this is a personal quest to get all of these books.

I am looking for issues #2 and higher of The 'Nam.

Please email or PM me.

Thank you.

Like many of these runs, some of the later issues of The 'Nam are real tough.

The hunt is what makes collecting comics so much fun! :thumb:
I owned a comic book store when The Nam first came out, and those early issues were smoking hot back then. Interesting how something that hot can cool off that much over time.

Well that is why I asked Greg for this Dead Universe section. The DUs are just very fun to hunt down and usually pretty cheap when compaired to lets say Spider-Man or a Batman full run. But for me, it is the hunt AND the issues are FINITE. Once, I them all... I have them all. There is no, paying 15% off cover and then two months later in a $.50 cent or $1.00 bin.

I hate to see good things go away but another curse of the DU is that when the books of said DU ends, it is usually on the down slope, so things 'end poorly'.... hmmmm I hear Valiant comics are like that as well.

But me, I collect new DUs and even things like The 'Nam and The Punisher on a whim. As Stu KNOWS, if you want me to start collecting some off the wall stuff... just send me an issue and the next day I am usually putting out an outcall for that title or line of books. Just like Comico books (well some of them) it all started when someone sent me Next Man #1 by Comico Comics, I loved it and researched a little further and found other titles that I liked and then found out about Innovation comics as well, it just started escalating from there and I really like it. There are SO many DUs out there that need rescuing and honestly there are some VERY good reads out there... all for between $.25 cents and $.50 cents a book.

I am VERY pleased that the DU section is kind of taking off and people are finding themselves getting sucked into the fun of it all.

With the Frank Castle connection, isn't it technically a LU?... :hm:

In my opinion, no. The Ultraverse crossed over with a lot of Marvel characters, but it's a du. Hmmmm. I guess anything's possible, though. At least in comics.

Great idea. This is possibly my favorite section of the entire board. :thumb:

The Ultraverse universe crossed over with the Marvel universe. Was the Frank Castle who featured in the 'Nam the same character who would go on to wear a skull-emblazoned kevlar suit? If so then technically not a DU, surely. If it was an alternative Frank Castle, then yes.

I haven't read of the books by the way, just have a passing awareness of this piece of the mythology.

I am not calling it a DU technically. BUT, the title is no longer being printed i.e. the title THE 'NAM has not seen print for years.

To be honest, if it wasn't this it would be something else. I am sure that is a neccessary part of the relationship with one's significant other... :D
