SDCC: Can anyone help a brother out?

Post by MedicAR »

I didn't make an effort to go to SDCC this year because I thought I would taking national registry exams during or just after the con. Not that it mattered, I didn't have the time to work extra anyway, so even if time hadn't been a factor, money still is.

Long story short, I'm looking for help with the goodies that will be at the show. I'm after anything Spirit (Frank Miller is working on a movie), 300, HEROES, Blade Runner, or Boondocks (Aaron McGruder is appearing) related. Naturally, I'll pay shipping and add more for your efforts. Any freebie comics are always good too!

Last year the freebies were everywhere, but it took some sweet talking to get the HEROES comics. It can be done though. I'm really hoping for a Spirit poster or a signature from Aaron McGruder.

I'd really rather pay someone here than go to eBay after the show, even if I wind up paying the same as I would on the 'Bay.

PM me if you can help!! :hope:

Thank you! :thumb:

And the offer stays open to one and all, it decreases the odds I'll miss anything, if I've got more folks trying to help.

DOH! Image

I forgot....and I'll gladly PayPal the $$$ to you.....a Stan Sakai UY drawing! A simple sketch, full body if possible. He sells them at the show, but I don't know the rates, I'd assume around $100-150.

I know I'm asking for miracles though.

Not to get your hopes up, but when I got mine, it was a whole lot cheaper than that. Again, I'll see what I can do. There's never enough time at that show.

I was telling a friend of mine about last year. We were there daily from open to close and still feel like we missed some great stuff. This show could last for two weeks, we could go daily, and I think we'd still leave with that feeling.

Thanks for the effort, but don't miss anything on my account! :thumb:

Understood, and don't sweat it. I mainly wanted to express an interest, so maybe something would ring a bell with members if they happened to see anything I mentioned.

Have fun and let us know how the panel goes! :thumb:

If we end up getting stuff, do you want it personalized? Because I hate saying, "It's, uh, for my friend, not to anyone (because that sounds like ebay)"

I just saw where the creators of Umbrella Academy have a ticketed signing.....

So much to see and do and I'm stuck in Arkansas! I'm saving money now, so I can go next year!
