Anyone else using CCL?
So is anyone else using Comic Collector Live?
I've used it to inventory the bulk of my collection and have already made 3 purchases from it (I got a Haringer #4 in 9.4 ungraded for $1!!!) and look forward to making more when it gets more items on it...
I purchased a comic that was advertised a Bloodshot Platinum 0 Error a couple of days ago which was also signed w/ COA for $10. I'm betting that it'll end up only being a VVSS (probably mislabeled by the vendor) but if not...
... then I'll probably streak naked through the forums.
For anyone that might be wary, it really is a great system. Even if you never buy anything, it does a wonderful job of inventory and reports on your collection!

Oops, how short sighted of me...
Comic Collector Live
It's basically a FREE organizing/database software specifically for comic books. It uses cover shots and lists the variants of all issues... The database itself is maintained by the CCL community of collectors so it's always getting bigger and better. You can inventory your whole comic collection, and then print reports. You can make a wish list of most-wanted or missing issues and you can buy or sell whatever issues you choose.
It's been in the works for a while now, but it just came online with the sell function about a month ago (maybe a little less) so the number of comics offered isn't the greatest yet, but it is getting bigger everyday!

I've been working for CCL for about 2 months now, and I've been representing the VALIANT world to the best of my ability! I try to keep my life on the boards here separate from my life at CCL, so I try not to be impartial. I can be found on the site, and I pass on any comments or suggestions to those who sit above in shadow. ALSO, looking forward to meeting some of you - CCL is sending me to San Diego to represent the company. Hope to make it the Valiant forum!
I'm noticing new stuff almost daily.
It's kinda like a shopping mall for comic vendors. New sellers are always coming online and have their own "stores" with issues in them to sell.
Someone noted above that shipping is a little unreasonable: thats dependant on the store and each store has their own rates etc.
I'm not pushing them as the be-all of comics-selling - but they do have a good system, especially for inventory! (And this from a guy who in the last week has ordered from e-bay, this board, CCL, newcadia, atomic avenue & eastcoastcomics.com...)

Updates for add issues and edit issues come in every day, and on average, I'd say we see thousands a week.
One of my favorite features is the notification system that allows you to see when an issue from your want list pops up. Another is the database link to the stores, which allows collectors who are viewing the details of an issue, to see if any copies of this issue are also available in any of the stores, and you can go right to them. There are also some VERY COOL site additions coming up for sellers.
I haven't worked there long, but the folks there are a fun group to work with and TRUE comic fans. They drive to the comic shops to get their books just like the rest of us. (Wednesday's are fun for the conversation and debates alone!) I hope if you haven't already given it a shot, you'll at least check it out. We're ALL in this because we love comics, and comics can always use more outlets for fans. Especially Valiant ones.

I've noticed that the number of issues in the que is bigger after time off like at night or a weekend. I've often wondered how you guys manage to sort through all of those requests on Monday after a weekend of thousands of entries/changesValiant_1 wrote:Updates for add issues and edit issues come in every day, and on average, I'd say we see thousands a week.
Keep up the good work!

for just keeping track of your comics comiccollector is good. I don't have a whole lot of experience using it, but it should work fine and is free. I like comicbase myself. very user friendly interface (more so than CCL IMO). comicbase has a free version that has quantity limits (500 books, I think) before you have to upgrade to a pay version. But if all you want to do is track your comics there is no need to pay for any upgrades after that. They will both do the same thing a little differently. They are good for inventory and want lists etc....They start showing their differences when you want all the bells an whistles which I can touch on if you need.

I went ahead and downloaded CCL and got all the valiant stuff listed as well as the other couple comics I have on there. I have not decided if I like it yet. Takes some getting used to. Before I had to reformat my computer I just had it typed out in wordpad. Stuff I had was bold and everything else was normal.
