STOLEN TUROK ART LIST UPDATE
Just an update, This is the posting I listed on CGC forum ,I will also try to e-mail as many comic dealers as possible. Again, thanks for your kind words and help....
HI Everyone
I am asking and pleading for everyone's help. On May 22, 2007, last Tuesday, my home was broken into here in West Covina, CA, The house was completely ransacked and among some valuables like professional camera and lens equipment, video camera, etc, the theives walked out with a black artist's portfolio case w/handle. In there were several original inks and color art.
In my collection, I had the entire inks and colors to Turok #0 ( Valiant Comics, Artist: Rags Morales) The stolen ink pages are p. 5, 6,11,13,18,20 24. The missing color art pages are p.1, 2, 14, 15, 16 , 17 , 18 , 19 , 20
Also in there were about 15-20 Alberto Giolitti Turok Son of Stone ( Gold Key) ink art pages that were stolen . This was part of a big collection that I have, the rest which not taken. Unfortunately, right now, I can't find the list of the Giolitti Turoks I had, but I know they may have come from either some of these issues # 78, 100, 109, 111, 106, 107, 115 , and 78
Please be on the lookout for these on ebay, craigslist, conventions, and e-mail me if by chance you come across. I am prepared to offer a large cash reward for the recovery of this art. I am also pleading to the comic art dealers to help me if the theives happen to try and sell these. The Giolitti art is particularly very rare so if they do show up, there may be a good chance they may be the ones stolen from me. Please help and thank you for your vilgilance.

Re: STOLEN TUROK ART LIST UPDATE
That's a good idea, as the thief is likely to try to either sell them to dealers or on Ebay. I hope whoever stole your artwork is caught and you get your stuff back.turok7 wrote:Just an update, This is the posting I listed on CGC forum ,I will also try to e-mail as many comic dealers as possible. I am seriously paranoid about Garand-thumb, which is why I prefer the M1-A1.tarheelmarine wrote:grandpa's old school..showing your age with that one, but it is a fine rifle.Unblessed wrote:M1 Garand > AR-15tarheelmarine wrote:old school...RyanMcLelland wrote:If you ever find out who did it...just tell me...I have a baseball bat, an AR-15, and a bad attitude.
But I am more into sporting rifles than tactical. I've got an itch for a Savage 99.

This is a terrible question to have to ask, but have you notified local pawn shops as well? I know it may sound odd, but if the guys who did this have any original print material to prove that this art was used for the comic books they may be able to sell it there as well. Just a thought so you can cover all of your bases.
The police told me a while ago that they notify and "work" with the pawn shops, manningfan wrote:This is a terrible question to have to ask, but have you notified local pawn shops as well? not sure what that means, but I go now and then to a local pawn shop to check. I've also notified all the LA comic shops like the Golden Apple in Hollywood and a weekly comic con in my area that deal in original comic art.

Needless to say, some pawn shops are less than ethical.
My father is a frequent pawn shopper, and at the EZ Pawn in Levelland, Tx was notified that a gun was stolen while he was filling out the paperwork on it and they sold it to him anyway. I forget where the gun was stolen from, but it was out of state and it was shipped from the EZ Pawn where it was pawned to Levelland. They are bad about shipping stuff around that way.
(TKW - EZ Pawn on 19th & Brownfield Hwy is awesome)

You should also if you haven't already notify all the local fine art galleries and art dealers just to tell them be on the alert for some stolen comic book art.turok7 wrote:The police told me a while ago that they notify and "work" with the pawn shops, manningfan wrote:This is a terrible question to have to ask, but have you notified local pawn shops as well? Wow, it's been that long. I still remember it like it was yesterday.turok7 wrote:HI just wanted to post this message again to keep it alive in case anyone has come across any of these pages that were stolen from my home a few years ago. Still hoping to find that they turn up eventually
I will keep an eye open.
