The rational of buying a 10K comic to read makes no sense in a day and age where TPB's and repints/commons exist for a variant.
Variants were created for one reason--collectors. The fact that they can be graded makes them more collectible.
TO each his own, but I dont buy variants to read--I buy them because I am collector. If the price is low good if it's high oh well. I buy what I can afford and if I want it bad enough.
