I guess none of us should overpay on any of those books since they will be flooding the market now.
So..... who in the heck is hanging onto all the Ninjak 1 golds? That one seems to be the rarest of the chromiums to me, but someone must have an asseload.

Nope, you definitely shouldn't do that!ckb wrote:So should I charge double to the board member who just bought a Magnus 21 Gold from me for $15?*SQUEE* wrote:The golds I see the least are Ninjak, Magnus 21 and Chaos Effect Omega.
I was able to get a Ninjak and Chaos effect but that Magnus 21 is elusive.

So much for selling the gold books 'affordably' for the valiant community. A board member was just quoted (by the seller with the hundreds of gold copies) the following prices:
Bloodshot 0 Gold $22
Shadowman 0 Gold $22
Armorines Stand Alone $25
I would suggest that given the size of the find, $5 - $10 is fair. And even that is pushing it. Please consider the realities of supply and demand when buying these books. The price is completely at the whim of the seller - he can make it as low as he wants as the buyers at $20+ dry up. Think X-O 1/2 gold.

Yeah, I may have been interested in a couple of extra copies, but not for those prices. You may as well just duke it out with someone on ebay. I doubt if he unloads much on this board.ckb wrote:So much for selling the gold books 'affordably' for the valiant community. A board member was just quoted the following prices:

Who got quoted? And how do we know for a fact he has hundreds? I know chainball was going to buy them but did he actually see them? Not meaning to be rude or anything. Just looking for the facts.ckb wrote:I editied the original post to be more clear.Rubiks-Q-Bert wrote:Who did the quoting?Daniel Jackson wrote:Yeah, I may have been interested in a couple of extra copies, but not for those prices. Did chainnball in NY see the books in CA? No.Rubiks-Q-Bert wrote:Who got quoted? And how do we know for a fact he has hundreds? I know chainball was going to buy them but did he actually see them? Did the seller start listing Psi Lords Golds on eBay in 10-packs? Yes. Did this seller claim to have cases of these books to Cody (cjmiller) and Chain? Yes. Did he follow up with scans, prices, and quantities? Yes. Did he produce a Bloodshot plat CGC 9.6? Yes. Did he send Chain a scan of a "copper" toned XO gold printing error supposedly from a sealed case? Yes.
I think you are barking up the wrong tree disputing this find. Chain was given a solid price quote with quantities. The seller (who is claiming he is a middleman) would not abide by that quote, and the deal did not happen, but I see no reason to not take him at his word.
Then we get this thread from a seemingly random someone who came across his eBay listings. Another board member (who can identify himself if he wants to - he PMd me to ask my opinion of the prices) emailed the seller for prices and got back what I just reported.

Not disputing anything. I know better then to rock the boat. I just wanted all the info is all. You provided me with what I wanted and I thank you for it.ckb wrote:Did chainnball in NY see the books in CA? No.Rubiks-Q-Bert wrote:Who got quoted? And how do we know for a fact he has hundreds? So with the below 2 posts you are saying that you bought from both goki31 and Rhett or are you confirming that they are one and the same?

2 different people. Dealt with both of them. I will say Rhett is a lurker with no posts. Rhett is definetly not goki31. Did not buy anything from goki31 though. He sent me free stuff.400yrs wrote:So with the below 2 posts you are saying that you bought from both goki31 and Rhett or are you confirming that they are one and the same?

If that was seriously the quoted prices, that's ridiculous.ckb wrote:So much for selling the gold books 'affordably' for the valiant community. A board member was just quoted (by the seller with the hundreds of gold copies) the following prices:

I was afraid we'd see numbers like that when they weren't unloaded to a single member in the beginning. I don't need the Armorines or Bloodshot enough to give that. Not when they still show up all the time on da bay.400yrs wrote:If that was seriously the quoted prices, that's ridiculous.ckb wrote:So much for selling the gold books 'affordably' for the valiant community. The problem is Rhett has been fortunate enough to have a few bidders/speculators/newbies bid silly money on some of his auctions, therefore creating an artificial demand. I've explained to him this is not the norm, and hey, more power to him, but I will not pay even half of the going or guide price of these books knowing there is 500 mint copies of each just waiting to hit the market.

Nope. In bulk, I'd be willing to do $5 - $8 on those depending on the book. This WILL be another X-O 1/2 situation in the future. CKB is right.chainnball wrote:The problem is Rhett has been fortunate enough to have a few bidders/speculators/newbies bid silly money on some of his auctions, therefore creating an artificial demand. What is a fair price?
First off, I don't know the reason why he would sell the Bloodshot, Shadowman, and Armorines at that price? All I knew is what he sold me and that was Psi-Lords, Turok, and Dr. Mirage.. He said he had those but never actually gave out the price for it until one of the members here PM CKB about his quoted price. In actuallity you as a buyer always have a choice wether to buy it at that price or not.. For what he sold me he still gave me a deal and just because he wasn't selling me Shadowman, Bloodshot, or Armorines doesn't say that he didn't.. Either way you look at it he saved me time and extra money looking for them. Also, on the note of Golds flooding the market which I seem to think that even if he had 100 of each doesn't provide one to every household who is a Valiant fan. I for one, are not worried about that.. What I am worried about is that when he doesn't have it for sale anymore -- where will it be? Whether Valiants becomes HOT or NOT is still a mystery! However, what is rediculous is the price of Valiants when they were HOT! I can see most of us looking back on this thread and than saying...Hmm.. I think the price for Shadowman, Bloodshot, and Armorines Gold are actually not that bad after all... Will see where the prices for those pan out in the near future..
