Gold Valiants 4 Sale..
I just purchased some Gold Valiants from this seller---> Rhet K. on Ebay. He gave me a good deal on them especially when you buy multiples & or mix and match including shipping. All the comics he sells are NM or better. The following Gold Valiants he has are Armorines, Bloodshot, Dr. Mirage, Psi-Lords, Shadowman, and Turok.. If interested than click on the link and scroll all the way down until you see his other items up for bid...Lata

I didn't notice this guy a few years ago. Is he fairly new to selling these on ebay?ckb wrote:Just FYI, Rhett has hundreds of each of the golds. Do what you will with that information.
I guess none of us should overpay on any of those books since they will be flooding the market now.
So..... who in the heck is hanging onto all the Ninjak 1 golds? That one seems to be the rarest of the chromiums to me, but someone must have an asseload.

These are the books from the famous pallet deal on the boards a month or so ago. I was trying to buy the whole lot, but he got too much information and decided to sell them himself. This is where the Bloodshot platinum came from. He has eluded to having multiples of that book as well. He has several hundred of each gold book.

Does it matter who has them or not?
I for one would be glad that someone like him that has 100 golds is willing to sell it at a decent price so everyone else can easily complete there collection. I thought this is where you let the Valiant collectors know if there was a deal that everyone would have that chance? I don't know what kind of history he has with other sellers here, but I never look at any sale or auctions here on this Website as the means of taking advantage of the Valiant community. If the opportunity arises for you to have a chance to complete your collection without the hassle of hunting those down yourself than I say do it.. Is up to you how much you want to spend, but in the end is about you completing your collection..

Heck I would take 9.6 There are quite a few I still need for my variant set. I have a magnus error 9.6 enroute to me as we speak, but there are some golds i still need.ckb wrote:There's a strong likelihood they ALL could come back 9.8.tarheelmarine wrote:ANy chance any of these could come back CGC 9.8?ckb wrote:Just FYI, Rhett has hundreds of each of the golds. You don't have much to worry about. Every one of those golds will be selling for under $15 in 9.8 within the next 12 months. Buying one for more than the grading cost would be a mistake.tarheelmarine wrote:Heck I would take 9.6 There are quite a few I still need for my variant set. Yeah those are nice prices, having bought most of these within months on eBay for far above what he's selling them for. Makes me wish I was more patient. My timing has always been crappy.

I'd agree with that if he were selling them here. He's not..goki31 wrote:I for one would be glad that someone like him that has 100 golds is willing to sell it at a decent price so everyone else can easily complete there collection. I'm not saying anything bad about him at all. in fact he is a very nice guy. All I'm doing is looking out for my fellow members and informing the masses to not pay alot for these books as there is a mass amount of minty books hitting the market. and he does read the boards
Also, part of me buying all of them was supplying the boards with the books at close to cost. Didn't work out, sorry...

My view...
There is one thing I learn is that you can't underestimate peeps even when they are new to this website. There's a possiblity that the new person could hold some of your key issues that you need. Which means give him a chance to share his stuff. I can bet that most of us at one time or another have sold on Ebay whether to make a little extra money or not. Some peeps feel more comfortable with just selling on Ebay vs. here because they are NEW.. Like someone said earlier that he's not familiar with anyone here which leads him to be more cautious. My view on this is that it doesn't matter where he sells it as long as we as the Valiant community have benefited from it.. On that note, take advantage of it cause maybe in the future there won't be an offer like this one especially with Valiants coming back..

So can ckb or chainball please fill us in on this palet thing? Is it talked about in another thread or something?
Why won't the seller just tell us how he came upon these books?

If he's sending a ton of them to CGC, $15 sounds about right. Glad I sold my 9.8 golds when I did.ckb wrote: You don't have much to worry about. Every one of those golds will be selling for under $15 in 9.8 within the next 12 months. Buying one for more than the grading cost would be a mistake.

If he doesn't send them in, the buyers will. And with them going for under $10 each raw, there is no barrier to the number that we will see in 9.8. They all are pretty much coming out of previously sealed cases.400yrs wrote:So can ckb or chainball please fill us in on this palet thing? Is it talked about in another thread or something?

I had recently made a trade with someone - My armorines gold 9.8 - not an easy book to find - for his Rai 5 9.8. At the time we both thought I was getting the better end of the deal. Now its clear I basically just stole a Rai 5 9.8. I feel terrible.
We really never got a story about the source of the books. We just know they are there, and now we know the bloodshot gold case had at least one platinum in it. I'm really bothered by the whole thing, and am pretty ticked that these weren't destroyed or given away back in the day. My feeling is that they did not come from the Valiant offices, but rather from a printer or distribution source. My money would be on a distributor, who was supposed to give them away, hanging on to them either purposely or inadvertantly.
Nothing we can do about it now. These aren't like the X-O 1/2s, where the book is made like a piece of crap and 9.8s are hard to come by despite a large find. If you want one of these in 9.8 just sit tight and the census numbers should rise steadily. You really can't go too wrong buying them at $8 each either. Even if it becomes $2 each 175 copies from now, you're down $6.
