Valiant Commandments...
After browsing tonight's listings on Ebay,
I decided that we should compile a list of "commandments"
about Valiant. I don't know if we can come up with 10, or 100...
but I figured I'd go ahead and get us started with a couple...
Valiant Commandments (may apply to other publishers as well...)
#1 - Thou shalt not auction single copies of regular issues from 1993.
#2 - Thou shalt not use 'excellent' as a description of condition.
#3 - Thou shalt not use the word 'rare' when describing any book valued under $10.

#4 - Ninjak is not Ninjack, there are no Robot Hunters, Dinosaur Fighters, or External Warriors, and though it has a 'V' on the cover, the title is not MAGNVS.

I think we should change this one a bit.#3 - Thou shalt not use the word 'rare' when describing any book valued under $10.
Thou shalt not use the word 'rare' at all.
These books are not rare, or scarce (ok a couple of the Vh2 variants are real tough to find) but if a book shows up in a auction once a week or even once a month it's not that hard to get one if you have the money.

OMG, its so true. I especially hate the "complete Magnus runs 1-45" which has issues #,4,14,16-28,45 no coupons. Aurgh!MagnusRF wrote:Thou shalt not list a run of books with exceptions or "holes" (i.e. Solar 1-35 except for issues 1, 6, 8, 11, 15, 21, and 28-35). This isn't a "run", it's a "lot".

Thou shall not list a book as "unread" as if it is a good thing for a book that you are selling 100+ copies of as if it were a good thing.
IE "copy of Turok #1 unread"
IE "copy of Turok #1 unread"

I love reading Chris' auction titles, Rare but has a starting price of $0.99 and a buy it now of $1.99 (not to pick on KC_collectables, I have bought loads of some from him)dellamorte wrote:Thou shalt not use the word 'rare' at all.

I agree Dellamorte, 99% of the valiant titles are far from rare if they appear weekly!

Thou shalt not use a reserve on books less than $20.
Thou shalt not post a 50 x 100 pixel (REAAAALLLLY small) pic taken from 5 feet away, and say 'grade according to scan.'
Thou shalt not use the words 'I am not a professional grader, but book looks Mint to me!'
Thou shalt not use the word 'not' in an auction title.
Thou shalt not refer to utterly unrelated items just to get your crap auction to come up in search results.

#1 - Thou shalt not auction single copies of regular issues from 1993.
I'm too much of a novice to underestand this... ?
because of the exploded volume of titles printed then?
(100,000s)
#3 - Thou shalt not use the word 'rare' when describing any book valued under $10.
how does the non-chromium Shadowman 0 fit in?
the comic database says its six times rarer than the chromium...
but the sales is around $3.00.
Is it very rare? The reason I ask, is I just picked up a couple of copies.
but nothing special on the price.
