Please help with something new that I've just received
Before I say much more . . . please forgive me for my ignorance. I have been a Valiant collector for years. However, I have never known the process of how comics are made. I obtained these through a friend.
Does someone out there know what these are exactly? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, it is the black seperation, but there are some strange things about it.chainnball wrote:it looks like one of the color layers. They were done in several layers.
it is:
1) the black seperation printed in gray ink
2) printed on a strange-colored surface, and
3) trimmed.
I'm still not sure where and how this fits into the printing process.

Carry on, I just am really curious if anyone knows the answer to my question. Don't want it to get lost in the shuffle.

Thanks for the responses y'all. I'm posting another couple I have. The color is actually yellow with dark green shadows (that's the best way to put it). They're some kind of editing copies, from what I can tell.
Here's another one . . . It's stapled with several pages.

Below is what it looks like when opened (it's hard to see). It opens like a comic.

Below is another one

Below is the back of it

Sorry for posting so many pics . . . It's the only way I could clearly show it.

Thanks! I appreciate those that are interested in buying. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet . . . still getting used to the idea of having them. When I got 'em . . . I had that lightheaded feeling with a bit of dry mouth . . . trying to stay calm, as to not show my excitement. When I got home, however . . . . you can guess what I was doing then!
I just recently had my salary sliced in half. I don't want to sell them, but may have to 'bay 'em. Personally, I'd like to frame 'em. I'll be deciding soon.
Yes . . . I do have more.

Absolutely. Rare items like this are neat to see. If you have more items like this, post some pics of them. You'll be doing us all a favor.Dr. Solar wrote:Don't be sorry, those are really cool! Cool pics! Thanks for posting!chainnball wrote:Here's pics of 2 i have that are complete. Hopefully you can see the different layers of color cells.
I'm familiar with how color seperation and CMYK printing works (I've hand crafted and printed images in this way), I was just confused about how those grey-green pages fit into either the creation of the color plates or the final print. I'd never seen anything like that.
SMEAGOL! LOOK! CHAINNBALL HAS THE RING!!
