Do you mean "who" as in which company? Valiant Entertainment, Inc.
http://www.valiantfans.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15114

Or, did you mean "who" as in "Who is Valiant Entertainment, Inc. (VEI)"?

VEI is the Kothari/Shamdasani group that won the Valiant and Acclaim assets
in the 2005 Acclaim bankruptcy auction.

Thanks Greg, with the connection I have it takes 10-15 minutes to load up a forum.

Hey, mentioning 'projects'.. could we turn this into a VVSS project??? I mean, it would be so much easier if we already have the books together.. just an idea :)

as more and more people keep signing up, it makes me wonder:

how is it that ANY local shop that ANY of you shop at aren't going to be getting this, or are unwilling to order it???

don't get me wrong, i GREATLY APPRECIATE all of you picking these up through our shop, and it is my pleasure to help get these into the hands of those who want them, but i can't for the life of me figure out why any shop would tell you "we aren't getting/can't get this"

i'll let you all in on a little secret: IT'S NOT A HASSLE TO "SPECIAL ORDER" items for customers. AT ALL. it involves signing on to the diamond website, doing a search for the particular item (which takes all of 5 seconds, LITERALLY), clicking a button to add it to your order, and clicking another button to commit the order.

if your local shop tries to make a big deal out of ordering you a trade they don't have or a comic that's out of stock at the moment, tell them to eat *SQUEE*. any shop not willing to take a minute of their time to help out a customer isn't worth your business. just because you aren't dropping $50 a week doesn't make you any less valuable as a customer.

it's really depressing that any shop would look at ordering items with such laziness...

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE ORDERS!

i think this hardcover is going to be a HUGE success, and this board will play a big part in that success! I'm finding myself falling back in love with valiant more and more everyday! :thumb:

I stopped buying new books shortly before moving. And the only LCS in my city isn't ordering this trade. He offered to special order, But I had to pay in full, there was no canceling it, and I had to pay a special order premium.

Truer words have rarely been spoken.

There's a shop north of town here that took orders for the new OSPG, and I think the number was up to about 15 or 20. Well, the day they came in, the owner called all his file customers who ordered one, and said that they had to pick up the guide by that Friday or they could not longer have a file, and they couldn't pick up any books unless they paid for their Overstreet. Now, I think you might as well walk up to the house of each of your customers, slap them in the pie hole and walk off. I ask you, would you buy from someone like that again? I say NO!

Consequently, 3 of his biggest file customers (about $100 a month each) now go to my buddies shop a bit further south of him. :thumb:

So, score one fo the good guys. Cause my friend always keeps quality books, and hunts down anything you want him to. He got a big collection of 30 longs, and called my cell to let me know he had Valiants I could dig through first. THAT is service!

Honestly I stopped buying new books about a year ago.. for me, too much of the comics industry has turned to soft pron. I want to be able to share my comics with my kids.. not hide them away under my bed worried that my wife or kids may get a hold of them.

Id almost liek to opne a shop and sell only the stuff that is appropriate. Im very upset with DC for corssign the line back in ther '52' series when they showed two women in lignerie in bed, I mean, its not like my brain DIDNT like it.. of course, who doesnt like images of scantly clad women beign together.. but I know that my mind doesnt NEED to see that. Thats how I want personally want to feed my brain. Im sure you guys understand.

So, I decided to just stop ordering new comics and focus on good and decent stories, which, for the most part, Valiant has done a very good job!!!

So here I am sending my order in to you.. I guess I could support my LCS.. and give them a peice of my mind at the same time.. or could send a letter to DC.. I guess in that way m being lazy. More money for you though;)

If anyone here misses this offer for any reason, I will have these available at their retail price for quite some time for board members old and new.
