That's something I've always loved, too-the aroma of new and of old books/mags/comics. There is something comforting about this. As for the final parts of the CGW/DHH line, it's really sad that Dark Horse negelected it in order to focus on crap like the Buffy and Star Wars endless lines. The early SW was good, but not at the expense of what should have been a huge part of the company. I am going to look up the short stories that appeared in Dark Horse Comics, and list them later. Oh, and there is another special that I forgot about: Mecha Special #1. The thing I think that signaled the end of this line was the cancellation of Nexus: Out of the Vortex. It got the axe 2 weeks before it shipped. The thing was finished, three issues had been fully solicited and the first four had marketing ready. It promised to explain some of the lingering plotholes, like what the Vortex man was really all about and perhaps even shed light on the darned Reaver Swarm. I was looking forward to this one big time.

Oddly enough, I bought a box of CGW CARDS off ebay super cheap. Got me into collecting the whole CGW universe. I am looking forward to reading 'X' stories that I have never read before but I know that the Ghost series is gonna be an *SQUEE* kicker to put together without paying an arm and a leg for it.

If you are okay with the TPBs, they go practically unnoticed.

I stumbled across a lot (by sheer accident, I can just imagine what searching in all of comics for Ghost would yield) of 4 Ghost TPBs for $2.99 once. And I picked up a fifth the same week for 99 cents.

Edit - 2800!

Did the other 100's get an edit (2700, 2600 etc)?

Posts are ticking by. Now what material from you repertoire will Greg be focusing on in a couple of hundred posts time? Personally I may quit at 2999. Quite a way to go yet for me, of course.

I don't remember doing special edits for the other 100's, but I think 2750 was a big landmark for me, psychologically. I'm in the last leg of the hunt, if it were.

I have a scary suspicion of what my title might be, but I'm not going to say it. Don't want to jinx it and it could be funny.

There is a Barb Wire tpb that collects issues 2,3,5 and 6 that came out in 1996. It has "now a major motion picture starring Pamela Anderson" on the cover and a a 3 page interview with her at the end.

I think that is sitting on the shelf at the LCS.

That "Film" had nothing, beyond names, to do with the book. It was terrible. The adaptation of the film, was terrible. The original series, was cool. The miniseries-Ace of Spades-was great. If one is a Chris Warner(aritist) and or Mace Blitzkrieg(character) fan, check it out.

The only movie I have ever seen with Pamela Anderson in it is with her and some guy named 'ohf@ckmyp@ssyTommy'... what a name for a guy huh ? But she kept screaming it over and over and over and over.... I bet they dont make a TPB adaptation of THAT movie.

Yeah, they can't all be Punisher meets Archie.

I avoided Punisher/Archie because I was burned out on inter-company crossovers at the time, yet I have heard nothing but good stuff about the book - is it that good?

If you want to buy a good book, trying getting a hold of a copy of "Punisher kills the Marvel Universe", definatly a good read.

BTW, I just picked up The recent Punisher MAX series 1-40 (missing only 5 issues) for $36 shipped. NOT a bad price in my opinion and they are in minty fresh condition. I am really looking forward to reading the Baraccuda issues !!!

Sounds like a good deal to say the least. I love getting a stack of books to read in a whole run.

How did this Comics greatest World thread get around to Archie and the Punisher?!?

Speaking of which my ROGUE TROOPER collection is DEAD in the water, while DNAgents and Aztec Ace collections are 98% complete for DNAgents and 100% complete for Aztec Ace is at 100%. I find that odd.

Sorry no help on Rogue. My own DNAgents is about 80-90% there (I think). I am working on Justice Machine (but I am staying away from the Noble stuff for now), and my reading on JM has ground to a halt until my package with a few gap-fillers from Mile High arrives (ordered 2 months ago - pah!).

I LOVE Justice Machine and Hero Alliance. Shoot me a needs list, I may be able to help out.

I never order from mile(prices too)high. I use mycomicshop.com They rock.

I think I might pick up some Punisher MAX books, see how they "taste" to my reading. As for the Ghost/Shadow x-over, it was probably the worst of all the ones that Dark Horse did for this line. Believe it or not, MASK: World Tour, was actually, mostly pretty excellent. Oh, and the Ghost/Hellboy 2-issue is not to be missed.
