I thought the exact same thing about the books. I would NEVER auction off something that terrible. I needed ONE of the books in there (Solution #5 variant) and paid way too much for a small set of U-Verse books to begin with but as you can see in that photo... my God, I would go as far to say that they are disgusting. Maybe he KNEW this and knew that the gig was up so he just refunded the money. I had noticed (after I bought the auction) that within the last year he had quite a few negs and neutrals.Daniel Jackson wrote:At least the guy was decent enough to give Chris his money back, but why on earth could someone send out books and not noticed damage like that?
One thing I DID do was leave him POS feedback. Maybe this was not the right thing to do but at the end of the day when he quickly returned my money in full, I was satisfied. I didnt even ask for my money back, I just described the books and said that I was not happy with the books at all... then I recieved a refund.
In your opinions what should have I done... left a POS as I did, left a NEG or NEUTRAL ?

POS is ok. You give him the benefit of the doubt. Guy gives you a refund. He never should have sold cr@p like that but the most important thing is he gave you a refund. Usually I just don't leave any feedback when something like that happens. He doesn't really deserve a neg or a pos and a neutral hurts his rating as well right?Knightt wrote:I thought the exact same thing about the books. I would NEVER auction off something that terrible. Isn't that the rare #3 though with the lower print run?

I think you did the right thing, after all he may be a moron, but he did promptly refund your money. I would have made some mention of what happened in the feedback though. If he would have given you some snippy reply before the refund then a nuetral or neg would have been in order. Plus, it sounds like his other negs will alert other bidders what to expect from the guy in the future.Knightt wrote:I thought the exact same thing about the books. The feedback comments are cr@p on ebay. It takes so long to search through them I just give up. Its too difficult to see the comments people have writtenDaniel Jackson wrote:I think you did the right thing, after all he may be a moron, but he did promptly refund your money. There is a website-program that searches out all negatives for any particular eBay user and displays them. I saw it on another site, if I run across it, I'll post the link here.cobra_commander wrote:The feedback comments are cr@p on ebay. It takes so long to search through them I just give up. Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

Dude...it's a rare appearance by Vemno, Venom's slightly *SQUEE*, uglier 2nd cousin by his aunt on his dad's side.palls15 wrote:I know Vemno, er, Venom appearances are heating up with the upcoming movie, but...

You definitely were right to leave positive feedback.
To me, it's good when an eBay transaction goes smoothly but you really see how a seller operates when there is a snag. I've been fortunate; everytime I have hit a snag, it's been with a seller who really takes care of it. Two pop into mind. The first is JW Comics. I bought 3 lots from him, and before I recieved them, he sends me a message saying he accidentally sent me one wrong lot (the other two were right) and sent one of mine to another guy. He paypal'd me money for postage and envelopes back, refunded my money on the lot that was sent to someone else, and still sent me the right lot as soon as he got it back. I gladly left him positive feedback. The second one, and I can't remember this guy's handle, I bought a Drax: Earthfall TPB and he sent me Books of Doom. I contacted him, he had to backorder the comic and I got it three weeks later and he told me to keep Books of Doom. I left him positive feedback. They both did everything they could to keep me happy, and I still got what I paid for. This guy paid you back, so in the long run, you were only out your time. He took care of you when you told him there was something wrong, and that's what a good eBay seller does.
Nothing wrong with the benefit of the doubt when both parties act in good faith, and from your description, it sounds like this guy was operating in good faith.

A lot of people bill the mini-series as a lead in to Annihilation. It's got a few of the characters in it - namely Drax and Cammie, who were rather important among the ancillary characters, and Paibok who was basically there as I recall. I would be more on the fence whether or not it was worth the price if I had paid full cover price, but after shipping it was something like $8.50 (with a free Books of Doom). Paibok really made the book a lot more fun. I am a very outspoken fan of the Marvel cosmic characters, and don't really like the new direction for Drax, but it probably made him more manageable as a character for the writers. The book also featured the Blood Brothers, who I had only seen once before in an early Thanos appearance (might have been Iron Man #55). Drax' metamorphosis could have gone worse, but I didn't like the end result. I did like it while he was beating the Blood Brothers and kept getting smarter.siren3-4 wrote:How was the Drax tpb ??? Paibok's most memorable line - (addressing human female) "You - I have misplaced the one called Macabee. Please bring him back to me. You all look alike except for your manes." It was also fun to see a Skrull in a suit - like a dress tie and formal jacket.
If you can find it for less than cover - I'd say go for it. Mostly because Paibok is so likable as a villain.
Side note - in my quest for this book, I ended up paying $4 after shipping for a copy of a Marvel TPB called the Destroyer. Judging this book by it's cover, I am going to bet it sucks but will read it anyways.
