Juggs fell in the ocean and hitched a ride back with the X-Men and over the next 3 issues or so decided that he was ready to switch sides. There was a two-part story in Uncanny X-Men (435-ish?) called Trial of the Juggernaut where the Canadian government captures Cain and puts him on trial. She-Hulk is his attourney. Juggs was held in the same facility as a character they called Rhino but didn't look much like the familiar Spidey villain, and Rhino tries to escape and Juggs thwarts him and does not escape himself. This leads to an argument with She-Hulk where he points out in all the times they fought, she never asked him about baseball or his hobbies or his stance on women's rights. Next page, they are laying together in a demolished bed.

Sage was ret-conned in. Supposedly Professor X discovered her when he was recruiting the first 5 X-Men and sent her deep undercover into the Hellfire Club. She's got a computer-like brain and is quite lovely - dark haired and svelt.

The Omega Sentinel and Lady Mastermind were rescued from a mutant dissection facility in X-Men 188. That was one of those issues where they set up a new team - I like this team a lot. There's an interesting diversity in commitment to the X-Men and the ideals of Xavier on it. Rogue, Iceman, Cannonball and Cable (he's more tagging along than anything else) are long-standing X-Men and tow the line. Mystique joined the X-Men in X-Men #175. At first, she wanted to join to break up Rogue and Gambit (Gambit is long gone now) but now she's just fighting for Rogue because Rogue is all she has left. Rogue is less than grateful for Mystique's concern, but is keeping her at arm's length. She requested Mystique to be on her team so she could keep an eye on her. The Omega Sentinel reminds me a lot of Data from Star Trek TNG - she is an android who aspires to be human. Lady Mastermind - Reagan Wyngarde - Rogue told her the only reason she's wearing the X is because when they found her all she had to wear was a sheet. She doesn't act like a hero. She joined up for revenge. She wanted to stick it to the people who were experimenting on her and used her powers quite savagely and freely on their footsoldiers. Sabretooth is not a good guy. He's not a hero. After House of M, Cyclops made an offer of sanctuary to any mutant left in the world, and when Sabretooth got in over his head, he showed up at the X-Mansion asking for sanctuary. The current X-Men team is floating around on a ship called the Conquistador and they keep Sabretooth in a torpedo tube on the Conquistador so he doesn't hurt anyone. He has fought alongside the X-Men once or twice in this run - but either because he had a common enemy or they drop him in the middle of things and he starts killing people and breaking things. The current writers say they are not going to make any attempt to absolve him or even make him a good guy. He's a cold-blooded killer and will remain one.

The Sentinels were dispatched by the federal government under the supervision of Val Cooper (formerly of X-Factor in the 90s) to help guard the X-Mansion after House of M. There is some friction between the mutants and the Sentinels, but they cooperate for the most part.

Jean Grey is dead (at least for right now). Before she died, she and Scott got a divorce. Scott was growing distant and ended up having an affair with Emma. Jean and Logan had a tryst, but I can't remember if that was before or after the divorce. Professor X is depowered and is featured in Uncanny X-Men. He's been captured by the Shi'ar and the deposed Lilandra is leading an insurrection to save him.

I can't recall hearing about Magneto after House of M, but he and Xavier were hanging out together before the Scarlet Witch went nuts and killed the Avengers. So when he shows back up, there's a 50/50 shot he'll be on the side of the angels.

C-lo..... I have no idea who most of these characters are...... but I know what is going on in the story.....

well done!

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

Close... Death.

He was recruited by Apocalypse to be his Horseman Death. Sunfire represented Famine, Polaris was pestilence and Gazer (who I don't recall seeing before the incident) became War. Sunfire and Gambit betrayed Apocalypse and struck out on their own and Polaris re-joined the X-Men (currently featured in Uncanny). I do not recall the ultimate fate of Gazer, possibly KIA. This all happened a couple of years ago, around X-Men 180 or 185 and lasted a handful of issues.

Elveen wrote:you know what is crazy, I have never read a single comic with Apocalypse in it. I have no idea who he is or what he does. I think, from gathering comments from this board, that he is a "super" powered bad guy.

As for the boots........

My only pair of boots I've ever worn are a pair of black Doc Martins that I got when I was 19, I'm still wearing them, almost 17 years later.

(I don't think I would wear red floppy chick boots from the 80's)
:o
at his source and with the right writer, Apocolypse is a fantastic character. Picture Harada but to the extreme and less interested in controlling leading the clash between mutants/harbingers simply being on top at the end of it and instigating the clashes to build to a fever pitch.

heh. Harada with less subtlety.
