Geeeeez ...

He must have this line on a quick key: What a load of CRAP! I must warn ebayers about your fraudulent auctions, SCAMMER

I think he left way more negs than he got, too.

Here's a couple good ones that were listed over in the CGC forums using the negative/neutral website so you don't have to skip around to find the fun ones:

Looks like he stopped selling in May. I wonder if Ebay suspended him or if he just decided to cut his losses and start over as someone else?
He started over as someone else, but I can't remember the exact ID....something with 'collector's world and/or tennessee' in it.

I find you can usually see where these guys are coming from by their replies to any negative feedback, and once the namecalling starts on either side I know it's someone whom I choose not to deal with no matter how good the deal may look.

CGC comics is frightening. Why they still sell, and why everyone has NOT stopped buying from him, I do not know.

Look at his response to one:

"PAID ONE DOLLAR FOR A30YEAR OLD COMIC+COMPLAINS"

He just doesn't get it. Price means nothing. NOTHING. Everyone reading this, if you understand nothing else, understand this:

PRICE...MEANS....NOTHING.

If the item promised is NOT the item delivered, IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT YOU PAID. Whether or not you 'still got a good deal' is UTTERLY IRRELEVANT.

If I sell you a 1953 Corvette, and deliver a 1973 Chevette....EVEN IF YOU 'still got a good deal'....I AM WRONG, and THAT is ALL that matters. I OWE YOU a 1953 Corvette, because THAT is what you BOUGHT.

When the item is NOT AS DESCRIBED....PRICE...MEANS....NOTHING.

How do I know this, and can shout it so boldly?

Because if the item was ACCURATELY described....it's VERY likely the bidder NEVER WOULD HAVE BID.

No bid = no win = no transaction.

It's not about price....or 'value'...or any other such nonsense. It's about getting what was described, period. ANYTHING ELSE is only ONE of TWO things: Negligence...or Fraud.

One is an accident, one is on purpose. There are NO other options. BOTH are NOT legally excusable, period. It is the seller's OBLIGATION to correctly describe what it is he/she is selling, to the best of his/her ability, INCLUDING NOT OVERGRADING COMICS.

Oh, and for a REAL lark, check out the rest of CGC's replies:

"Reply by cgc*comics: PAID ONE DOLLAR FOR30YEAR OLD MARVELSPOTLIGHT18VF/NM PRICE IS$11.00YOU OWN ME$10"

Price? What price? You mean GUIDE price? ROFL! Too funny. 'You own (sic) me $10'..oh yes, of course, because he DESERVES that $10. He EARNED it. He has the RIGHT to charge full guide....even though he can't grade a wet paper sack.

This guy needs to be put in a home, where he cannot harm anyone any longer....

...actually, cheats and thieves like this deserve a much worse punishment.

Dante was right.

Oh, and of course, eBay won't institute a feedback filter, because they know that, while positive feedbacks are relatively meaningless as a composite score, a NEGATIVE or NEUTRAL on its own is very telling as to how that seller handles a problem...

...and it's not in eBay's best interests to discourage buying, EVEN WHEN THEY KNOW FULL WELL THAT FRAUD IS BEING PERPETRATED.

It's the ol' Switzerland defense...'we're neutral, but we have no problem doing business with the enemy'.

So, they keep the negs and neutrals buried in pages of positives, so that the 'overall look' is 'better'. No one wants to take the time to sift through it....too bad we can't hack eBay and put negs and neutrals right on the item description.

Luckily, we have Win's feedback tool. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

Sigh.

It was ok before, when one could search for the word "Complaint". Now they have removed that and replaced it with an icon. Wonder if they knew what they did?

To me, this defeats the whole purpose of feedback and you lose any ability you might have to trust the seller. I will not bid on auctions from someone who chooses to keep the comments about themselves private. What is even more amazing is how they keep getting people to bid on their auctions.

Well....I know, I know...but I gotta say, the auctions are REALLY tempting...I mean, lots of Spidermans for 40 cents each? Including Silvers?

Argh! Must...keep....away...from....bidding...:)

But you know what? I don't TRULY blame the deceitful sellers as much as THESE idiots:

Page from a comic, but still in good condition and cheap
Buyer jim_036 ( 237) Sep-20-04 15:42 2264362258

Good condition? It's a page CUT from a comic. CHEAP? It was $4 PLUS shipping!

It's people like jim_036 who enable these frauds to KEEP doing what they do.

jim_036 should be booted off of eBay FIRST.
