Pre-Unity gay superhero? (Not Ken)

So, I was just reading X-O #6. In the letters page at the end of the comic, some dude writes in and says that he likes that they included a gay character (Ken) but was less than pleased at the stereotype that Ken fit. Shooter replies saying that he finds anti-stereotypes disingenuous and is disgusted by attempts to ethnically balance groups of three or more people (Shooter is so awesome - have I said that lately?) and points out that Ken is a bad guy. He says that if they were looking for a token gay guy rather than a real character, he would have been the paragon of nobility. Shooter also says that there is already a gay hero in the Valiant U but (s)he hasn't been outed yet.

So - who in pre-Unity Valiant is gay? Elzy seemed to be bi-sexual, going for both Willow Talltree and Magnus, but Magnus 12 came out before X-O 6. Was one of the established characters supposed to come out as gay after Unity at some point but that got scrubbed? The most likely candidate I can think of is Shadowman. Magnus had Leeja, Rai was married, X-O had a voracious appetite for women, Solar had Gayle and the Harbinger kids were pretty well paired off... except for Zephyr? Could Shooter have planned to make Zephyr into a lesbian? Why does that fill me with warm thoughts? Scratch Shadowman... he hooks up with that girl in the Lost Land. Eliah?

Err... Geoff McHenry? I think that is a solid guess. He was always so sensitive.

My only other guess is one of the spider aliens.

It sure as SQUEE wasn't Jack Boniface. He hooks up with some chick for a one night stand in his first issue (sure she was a weird vampire spider alien creature, but hey, we've all made... regretable choices).

I can see where you would get that. He was so hurt by Chris cheating on him with Torque...

I forgot that Jack has a one night stand on the first night, but there might be something with the Spider Alien. "And tonight, in a very special episode of Blossom, Sven the Spider Alien comes out as gay."

I still think Faith Herbert is our best bet.

Sting struck me as a character that was unsure of his masculinity, but not his sexuality.

I can't say one way or the other (maybe cuz I don't want to believe Sting could be of that persuasion), but he also had the Tibetan monk friend in the Visitor.

Faith did look rather Butch in the future as well.

So it sounds like there is no "definitive" answer to this question. I for one think that making Sting gay, even retroactively, deserves major kudos, talk about a huge risk. Can any of the Valiant alumni that frequent the boards give any credence to this theory? Would be very interested to know what might/should have been.
