The one I have has a quarter inch of white marking all alone the spine where it was pulled from the other publication.

Innitially I was stoked to see it was worth so much then I noticed it wasn't nearly as purdy as the one in the picture. DOH!

I went to a curiosity shop today and picked up Action Comics #25 for $1.

Ok, not really. ;)

On a totally unrelated note, I am exhausted, and have not had a minute to spare to myself since Sunday.

Yay!

Did yours have staples? I have a feeling that if I pulled the "attatched" one from the catalog, it'd end up being like that Orange Deathmate Preview.

I'm not sure which box it's in, if I find it I'll check for the staples and edit this post.

This was a killer deal imo.

Hey sound' that is a great deal,, I couldnt pass it up,, even though I already the same book in a 9.8..... (back to the Acclaim issue) I have one with staples and no trace on the spine that was pulled from the Previes, but I doesnt look like its a cardstock like the Armorines 0 F Fling.

I would have to say that X-O Manowar #0 gold and Ninjak #1 gold are the prettiest books out there.
I even like the PsiLords gold better than the EW, NOT the interior mind you, but the covers.

REALLY? Wow, I wouldn't think that just because of the chroium covers...

I mean, Ninjak is pretty with the 'rainbow' holochrome gold.....

Psi-lords, with the 'mottled' gold looks nice, too, but...I dunno...

there's just something special about that big beautiful bold gold foil logo. :)

And it looks SO much different from the regular book. Ninjak, Psi-Lords, and X-O are just the same...with gold logo boxes. Ya know?

Eternal Warrior Gold Embossed is THE Gold book IMHO.

Back when Gold books where GOLD Books and everyone was painting their cars, houses and whatever else they could stamp w/ a Valiant Logo to get a Gold, it was the Eternal Warrior Embossed that was King. EVERYONE WANTED IT! I especially like it because it's the only one with gold on the cover aside from the logo box. It's special.

I still think it's the best Gold book and has the most appeal to people who could care less about comic books. Each and every one of us, especially those of us with kids will be forced to be a WARRIOR at some point in our lives. Gotta kick *SQUEE*! I guess that's why Eternal Warrior means something to me. He's lightning fast, lives forever and can whoop anyone's butt. I want to be an ETERNAL WARRIOR!

The Embossed Gold is just the coolest and when you get one without any creases and wrinkles it's like, DA BOMB!

Ok, back on topic....

Unity Red is the best looking valiant book for me.
Archer and Armstrong is way cool too. I just love how the gold logo looks up close. EW gold embossed, XO gold, and turok gold if the chromium is the gold not yellow type.

Now for my question--does anybody know if the "Starting Over" comic (the August 1996 one had VH2 X-O and Magnus) featured in the catalog was reprinted anywhere else?
Nope, it was going to be one of the event issues down the line but they shut down before it ever got to that point. It would have been nice to have in a collected edition.

Just completed another private transaction with one of the dealers at the Big Apple Con. He sold me all of these for $33.55 including shipping. All books are in NM shape too.

X-O Manowar #1-6
Solar Man of the Atom #1-10
Shadowman #1

Well as always, there's always a good and bad side to everything. All of these private transactions are taking a toll. Sometimes these deals are so good that I lose track of how much I am spending. I done about 20+ in private transactions alone last month on Valiant books. Now I'm running into space problems and low budget on other stuff. I got one more private transaction left and I'm hanging the towel on all Valiant books except for Harbinger #1 and Magnus #0.

I hear you with the money constraints escaflowne. Looks like you had a few Gambit first appearances strategically placed off to the right of the picture. Good job on those too.

Those were for another X-Men lot transaction I was doing. I was lazy to clear them outta the way before I took the pic of the Valiant books.

Considering what some of these have been selling for, this was a steal. I onlt wish I had seen it first.

That auction was up for SIX MINUTES. That's just crazy. I swear there must be people with no jobs and much more time on their hands than I've got...

VG-NM condition. Roll the dice. eBay is just a new gambling site. It's about taking a chance, not about buying what you want. It's sad.

Even tho that's true, ebay still is the best place to get deals on comics compared to LCS and Comic Cons.

Aye, if you're lucky.

I've returned 25% of the ebay books I received this month. Total crap shoot.

Even a Mint Harbie 1 where I saw the high rez scan before shipment and with good protection arrived to me in VF. I swear they have Grimlins that can crawl inside our boxes.

Where's Gizmo when we need him?
