Jay, I haven't picked up any only Bats in years, but you are slowly making me a convert.Jay Tomio wrote:I like the Neal Adams Batman run for a couple reasons:
1. Post 1970, one would be hard pressed to find another artist/character combo that has such a balance of significance and dopeness (I'm assuming you mean Detective as well)
2. They are rather easy to find, supply is not really and issue. For the dollars you can find any of them and rather conveniently.
I'm not share what you grade standards, but in my upcoming cull, I may be wanting to move a CC 9.0 of #222 (Beatles knock-off issue). Only reason is because I have what looks to be a raw 9.4. (which incidently one has gone for (what I thought) was a rather high prices lately)
3. Batman is the Gotti of all Comic characters.
In Wayne I trust.Matthew 19:26 Retconned, huh?

I'd say thats a pretty fair price and a pretty accurate statementJay Tomio wrote:In that grade $200 give or take (Usually the latter) $20 for that issue
Interestingly enough, 2 weeks ago I was going to say $100 (which is about average according to GPA - slightly less actually) - but I have started to see some interest in the issue in slightly higher grades so I am going to be with some interest on other sales in the next month or so before I cut down some of my comics.OK...how much you want for the CGC 9.0? Laughing
Maybe Beatles fans are waking up!

I haven't seen a copy of that book anywhere in over 10 years! It's one of my "grail find" books if it ever happens.MagnusRF wrote:Jay Tomio wrote:I also picked up a slabbed copy of GOBBLEDYGOOK#1 (1986) with a Turtles appearance. I think you guys are getting your "Gobbledygooks" mixed up. Jay made sure he put the 1986 date in there, meaning it's the very common version, not the rare one with the first appearance of the Turtles in an ad.whovianone wrote:I haven't seen a copy of that book anywhere in over 10 years! That one (1986) is the easy one to find.

It's cool, I figured these guys might have been confused because I don't think they would be getting excited about a book you can buy at Mile High for $1.80.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:Never mind.Brother J wrote:I think you guys are getting your "Gobbledygooks" mixed up. Heh...I was never minding my post from above. You'd already explained it, but I hadn't read that far.Brother J wrote:It's cool, I figured these guys might have been confused because I don't think they would be getting excited about a book you can buy at Mile High for $1.80.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:Never mind.Brother J wrote:I think you guys are getting your "Gobbledygooks" mixed up. You buy what you like, nothing wrong with that. I keep buying cheap copies of Dr. Strange #62 in NM because I think the story about the final destruction of vampires in the Marvel Universe is just very cool. It will probably never be worth anything, since I'm sure all the vampires have probably come back 20 times since, but I like it.Jay Tomio wrote:Oh, yeah - not the (as noted I was sure to put the date up!) Gobbledygooks. I have a tendency to get caught up in my peripheral collecting (my true focus-currently - is Phantom Stranger and Silver/Bronze Teen Titans - along with finishing off the cosmic Marvel collection) that I can't really explain properly with reason. There are a couple of moderns that I always buy slabs of - Painted Spectre covers, TMT appearances, Grendel, Azreal/Azbats related stuff, some random Bolland covers (Wonder Woman etc ) - I guess you could put VALIANT in that group as well. I also tend to buy copies of Transformers#19 (Omega Supreme cover)
I really can't explain why, but 'dumb' probably enters the equation somewhere.
Yeah, for some reason I always think TMNT got their start in 1986 or so.Brother J wrote:I think you guys are getting your "Gobbledygooks" mixed up. No, I'd use something more elegant like...Jay Tomio wrote:Oh, yeah - not the (as noted I was sure to put the date up!) Gobbledygooks.
