No, Amazon wasn't selling them and they are going for over retail on eBay. When I get a third Wiimote, I'll get it.Daniel Jackson wrote:I wanted to start with Twilight Princess, but my wife bought me Marvel Ultimate Alliance and surprised me with it after I brought the Wii home. I didn't have the heart to throw the game aside and start playing Zelda. So my son is playing my Zelda game now <sob>.ckb wrote:I love mine too. I'm working my way through Twilight Princess, and my son loves Antbully and the Virtual Console games like Mario Kart 64 and Zelda.Daniel Jackson wrote:Finally got a Wii (actually got one for my son too since they are only 250 a piece). What an awesome system, it's easy to see why Sony is getting it's butt kicked now. I wasn't sure if I would be that crazy about the new controllers, but they are so intuitive and easy to adapt to. I'm playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance and so far the game is awesome. The plot of the game is worthy of a major motion picture and the cinematic scenes are incredible.
And we all play Wii sports like fools. Even my 4-year old is good at it. I really think it gets harder as your skill level increases.
I had trouble finding a second Wiimote but I have one on its way from Amazon.com now.
Oh btw, speaking of Wii sports, did you buy the gameplay Will package that has the free Wiimote? Our Wal-Mart had a bunch so I grabbed one.

I'm trying to push my way through Lost Planet right now...but the game is just not that good.
I mean, the mechanics are fine and blowing stuff up is cool, but the story just kind of sucks. Plus, all the levels are real easy until you hit the stage boss, who is about a million times harder than anything else you'll run in to.
I might have to go pick up God of War II. I just hope it doesn't make my ancient PS2 explode.

Finished playing Star Trek Legacy a few days ago... disappointing game, thankfully it was a rental.
Flying the Starships were like maneuvering battleships... controls were a bit sloppy, which added to the 'fun'. Once you got the hang of it though, it gets a little bit easier.
The worst part is that they had an interesting story line (it's the development of the Borg... did they actually state in the series that Voyager probe that returned in the first movie was the start of the Borg? Interesting connection) BUT they didn't include the cut scenes while you played. You actually had to go down to the EXTRAS option at the start screen to watch them. WTF? Instead of getting these rudimentary cutscenes (basically artwork with voiceovers), we get exterior shots of the ships and people talking over that which was even more boring.
The only positive thing I can say about it is that they actually got all the Captains from the series to do the voiceovers... Archer, Kirk, Picard and they even included Janeway and Sisqo which I thought was cool as well.
Unless you are a fan of Star Trek (not just a casual fan) this one is most likely a rental... if that. Not a lot of replay value and very few people online to actually play with (which makes getting the achievements difficult).
Also rented Superman Returns. Again, fortunately, this was not a purchase. Imagine the open world of GTA except you are Superman... and you have to do the same three missions fighting the five different characters over and over again.
The game is fun for the first hour. There are missions where you play Bizzaro and you destroy the city and there's racing mission against Myxzptlk. But then after the novelty wears off, the game gets tedious. The most disappointing thing is that you fought the same villains... you had to fight Mongul TWICE? They couldn't have included another villain in there? I understand why they didn't include Braniac (would've been redundant after Metallo). But they couldn't use Parasite? Doomsday? The Trickster? Darkseid?
They had they most ridiculous achievements as well... like Frequent Flyer where you need to get 10,000 miles flying. After doing the whole storyline and mini-games, you only end up with about 3000 miles. It's then about an hour of uninterrupted flying to just get 1000 miles (7 hours more of just plain flying!!). Same thing with the heavy lifter achievement: Lift 10000 tons... the heaviest object in Metropolis is 11,000 pounds... the next heaviest? around 2000 pouns... I don't know what EA was thinking. Don't get me started on the find 100 kittens either...
The other disappointing thing as well was the lack of continuity between the game and movie it was tied into. The cut scenes completely contradict the movie (although they do hint that it Lex that tricked Superman into going to find Krypton... which was interesting but never developed)... I thought they were going to do something clever like set it after the film or something but I guess they were too lazy to do that.
Again, this is a rental... even if you ARE a big Superman fan.
I'm trying World Championship of Poker: All In right now... it's a change from the games I usually play... no big surprises and you get what you expect.
