Just to be clear, the check is written by White Wolf - but the money comes from the people at the convention. I run a real-time auction (not eBay - oh no! :) ), do a few raffles, Jail & Bail and the like, and then use that money to give back to charity. Since some people pay with checks or credit cards, we have them make it out to White Wolf, who then collect all the cash, checks, and credit card payments, combine them, and send the checks along their merry ways.

And White Wolf retains no rights to the donations - they make sure that it's the people who donated who get to claim the donations to charity. WW has ALWAYS been amazingly supportive of me in these causes, an they are a PHENOMENAL company with which to work.
It never occurred to me that this might be the case. Still, it's very generous of them to help out like that!
What did you expect it to be ?

I thought Ric was either an incredibly smooth talker, amazing poker player, or threatened to use a chair on them. I had just assumed the cash came from White Wolf. Businesses can be very generous!

Oh they are (or this would not even happen). When I met a few of the guys from WWP last year, they were incredibly nice as well as just about EVERY person that I met at the Con. I walked away with a very nice feeling when I said my goodbyes.

THIS goes without saying... he is also a female hug magnet. I have never seen one guy snake so many hugs during a four day weekend. There was enough to where I could take up his throw-offs and still feel like I was a semi-attractive guy (or one worth a pity hug)

I just want to bump this again... it's worthy of another bump. :thumb:

Back in October Ric (Byrneout) went to an annual convention like the one that him and I attended last year in Phoenix, except this year it was in another state and unfortunately I was unable to attend. Ric headed up the charity events during the fund raiser. This year CF was not the primary during the Con, the primary this year was Shriner's. Needless to say, Ric did an INCREDIBLE job this year, just as last year (he is kinda cool like dat).

I received a check from White Wolf Publishing a few days back, this will be sent to the Tucson Cystic Fibrosis Foundation regional office next week. I am pleased to announce that this is the official start to the 2007 Valiantfans.com Cystic Fibrosis Fund Raiser. I will run auctions throughout the year up until September. Maybe this will be easier on everyones wallets over time and help raise more money for CF research. I will confirm that the CF website is up and running properly next week before I send the donation check off to the CFF.

So, I am officially starting the fund raiser and I am incredibly happy to begin this event with our first donation:

You are seeing this correctly, the donation check is for $14,000 dollars !!! I also have about $130 in additional donations that I have received locally.

RIC... YOU are the man. Thank you SO much for your work during the convention and raising such a large initial donation. The cool thing about this is that Shriner's received and even LARGER check as they were the primary.

So there you have it...

It has begun !!!

I'll dig through some stuff and see what I can donate this year. The charity auctions are always fun to watch . .

. . and more fun to bid on :)

So, it occurs to me that I have some PayPal money and I owe a little something for a piece of Shadowman art so graciously given to me. I can't think of any other way to make a donation for this than to match my winning bid on the Katrina-Shadowman piece that was auctioned off on eBay - Knightt, please PM me or e-mail me the info so I can do this now.

YES, that IS classy...

slym, we are trying to get the Team Alyssa donation website up and running and have been trying to do so for a couple of weeks. I should have something for you and everybody else hopefully soon. I have already been sent donation items and will auction these off soon so as to space out the auctions a bit more hopefully making it easier on everyones wallets this year. As soon as the Team Alyssa site is up and running I will provide the info and then proceed with auctions. Deal ? :thumb:
