Oh man, I was playing along.Ryan wrote:hmm.. my comment was a bit harsh, sorry. In real life people can tell when I say something shocking just for effect, but on the internet it can offend people.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote: Wow. I didn't know Rai and Magnus swung both ways.

I think cjv hit the nail right on the head. Magnus, Solar, X-O, Harbinger and Eternal Warrior were the core titles. Bloodshot was important to the Valiant universe, but it was such a cliche 90's shoot 'em up title. I feel Bloodshot and Turok COULD have been good. The characters just weren't used in ways that interested me. I loved BWS's run on Archer and Armstrong so it must remain on my list. I can do without everything else.

Judging from sales and the amount of online praise both series still get, Bloodshot does have a solid following. The comic was never a cliched 90's shoot 'em up when I read it in its first year. I would definately include Bloodshot.violentmarv wrote:I think cjv hit the nail right on the head. Magnus, Solar, X-O, Harbinger and Eternal Warrior were the core titles. I agree with Turok (but I mentioned that already in this thread). I would still include him just for how cool the concept was.

I thought I had heard that Valiant killed off the first Rai in Unity and cancelled his title because it was the worst selling pre-Unity title. I guess once sales went up dramatically post Unity for all Valiant books, they figured they could do no wrong and pumped out new titles every month, including bringing back the Rai title with issue #9.Does anyone know why Valiant did away with Rai, & replaced it with the Future Force? I remember Layton saying something about this, but I can't remember it. If Valiant wanted to have tie in with the future, you would think they would have done it with Magnus or maybe even Solar.
As for having it "tie in with the future", not sure what you mean. The Rai character and book was always set in the future, along with Magnus. Sure, making the title "..and the Future Force" was kind of cheezy, but I guess they were trying to show that the Rai title at that point was going to focus more on Rai teaming up with the other heroes of the future and not solo Rai adventures.
