Squirrel Girl is my girl. She beat Thanos, Terrax and Dr. Doom. You have to respect that.
Whup! I take it back! I don't want trouble from brother Goat Man!

Respect for Squirrel Girl! Of note, Rocket Raccoon is going to be in the new Annihilation Mini series!

The follow up to Annihilation is called Annihilation Conquest and is due out the middle to the end of the year. Rocket Raccoon is featured predominantly on one of the bookend covers. The villain has not been named, but the powers that be in Cosmic Marvel are supposedly in flux after the first Annihilation.

However, I won't be supporting this mini series because of the butchering of Quasar as well as the fact that crap character Phylla Vell not only has the bands, but they are calling her mini "Quasar". The whole thing *SQUEE* me off to no extent (aka as far as *SQUEE* off as I can get about a comic book character that is). It's a rough call too because I like Chris Gage (Quasar writer) a lot as a person and as a writer. But that direction for "Quasar" is crap.

However, I will be supporting Chen's Nova series. Sheesh, Granov on covers, Iron Man in issue 2 and Sean on art. I'd never have bought that book otherwise, and now I'm really looking forward to it. Sean, if you are reading this and it's feasible for your career, put up some kind of fight over this Quasar direction, please man.

I always liked X, great Frank Miller covers on a couple of them.

I must admit, before I got into Valiant-more on that in a bit-THIS was "my" first universe. I've always thought that the problem Dark Horse encountered was waiting too long to debut the line then waiting too long to bring out other books. I mean, for almost 6 months there was essentially one book and very little info on any of the other locations. They also had a tendency to cancel titles based on orders for the first issue, which to me is not a good businsess risk model if one is truly intent on building a compettive product. However, I have every issue of every series and all the extras except for issues # 10, 13-15, 17 & 22 of the second Ghost Series. I also need another copy of # 2, as mine had an accident-little cousins and curious boxes, no?-but as for the length of the X series, it lasted 25 issues and you did get resolution, including a fairly decent origin. I think the characters, much like Valiant, could still work if given the proper care, but it's probably too late and the market isn't as big as it was. As for the promised bit about Valiant, I never had the money at the time, but I did pick up a few issues like Turok #1, XO #0 among others. I recently realized I had a few more Valiants than I thought and having liked the stories and art, decided to get back into collecting them, not just for possible profit, but mainly so that I could enjoy some darn fine stories. I also had jumped into the Acclaim relaunch, and not being too familiar with the original versions, wondered why so many people didn't like the takes. Having read the originals, I see the points, although Quantm and Woody as well as Bloodshot were pretty cool. The idea for the new XO armor had potential which was wasted and don't even get me started on Shaza-er, Ninjak.
