Comics Greatest World
What do you guys think about those? Some of the stuff are decent finds... the Dark Horse Comics Presents issues (1st app of "X") and some of the Advanced Comics exclusive Sourcebooks and stuff like that...

It gets as lame as Squirrel Girl, but I digress. I never read King Tiger. So far, I've only got a few of the initial launch weeklies, a promo sourcebook & the first app of X which is cool.Chiclo wrote:I liked Ghost and Out of the Vortex.
Not really much else. I mean come on, King Tiger? How lame does it get?

Uhh... anyway. How long did the X series last? I know that Ghost did okay for a while too.

Why waste time learning, when ignorance is instantaneous?
I am hog wild into collecting these. I suggest reading them. They are gritty through much of it and I kind of like that once I stopped expecting GREAT art. Some of the art is 'so so' but the stories so far have been very good. Now I am only partly true as I wait until I have ALL the books until I start to read them but from what I have so far, they are well worth getting. This is an enclosed universe, finite and tried to keep up with a pretty tight continuity. I remember not being able to wait for the $1... even to this day, the books 'smell' like they did 'back in the day'.
IMO I would recommend getting these books. Cheap, good read (from what I have so far), damn snazzy variant covers from back then and dammit... collect... COLLECT !!!!
And little did I know but there is a Comics Greatest World card set as well as the movie Barb Wire card set. But do not buy a CGW card set unopened box... you will NOT get a full set. I was so *SQUEE* but got over it as there is a single card dealer on Ebay. You name it, I think that he has it.

I agree with knightt, I highly recommend this DU especially X which went up to #25 and a Predator appearance in I believe #18. From what I read of Will to Power and Catalyst Agent of Change I enjoyed both those as well. From what I remember I think what ever month X #18 came out the Predator made appearances in all the CGW titles

Predator crossed over into a few titles in an arc called Hunting the Heroes. Good stuff.
Agents of Law #6, Ghost #5, Motorhead #1, X #18

Coincidentally, I just read a copy of Rebel 1 that came as a freebie with a lot I bought a while ago...... It blew. I read it on while on the *SQUEE*. It's now sitting next to my toilet unbagged and probably gets some pee splashes on it every once in a while. Because of this, it'll probably be the first comic I've ever thrown away.IMJ wrote:What do you guys think about those? In summation, I'm not that fond of it. The blond mullet rocked the house, though.

If you buy those TPBs, don't crack them open wide or you're going to have a huge white line down the spine.
They are nice to collect as they were retailer incentives, but I would read the single issues before opening these as a casual read.
You are right Chris, these things are bad for smudges and fingerprints.

Squirrel Girl is my girl. She beat Thanos, Terrax and Dr. Doom. You have to respect that.
Two volumes, the first ran 30-ish issues and the second ran 22-ish. 2 specials and CGW: Arcadia Week 3. I've read the whole series and the ones I don't have individual issues of I have in trades (I've got 5 or 6 Ghost TPBs). She laid the smack down on Predator with great ease.Knightt wrote:The tough set to get is all the darn 'Ghost' issues. This seemed to have gone over pretty well.

What's with this forum, all these people peeing on comics...
