Doctor Spectrum by Marvel? Cover looks like Solar ripoff.
Anybody check this out? The title and cover look quite a bit like a Solar ripoff, the logo has the color spectrum similar to the colors that ooze from Solar. And the title, Doctor Spectrum...
I havent' read it so it could be completely different though.

It's a spinoff of Squadron Supreme recently resurected by Marvel with Supreme Power which is worth reading for fans of Rising Stars, etc.

That's the best cover I could fing of Spectrum using his powers and I just don't see the connection. I guess after you collect for awhile all the super power people remind you of someone else.

Both Supreme Powers and Doctor Spectrum are great reads! Can't wait for Rising Stars to finish--it's due to resume in the next couple of months! I've been impressed with most of the Marvel MAX titles so far that I've read. Great artwork and generally interesting stories. jp

The only Max title I get is the Punisher, which is always a favorite of mine while Garth Ennis is writing it, hope he sticks around a little while.
I've heard Supreme Power is good but slow, meaning not much happens in each individual issue (like Ryan said), can't say for sure because I've only read the first issue. The Squadron Supreme mini series from the 80's is a great read which I'd recommend.

Funny, I was in a LCS yesterday and that was the first thought that came to mind when I saw the cover, WalrusCyclone.WalrusCyclone wrote:Anybody check this out? Yeah, Supreme Power is one of my current favorites. To me, they are kinda taking classic super heroes and reinventing them in a more realistic, modern setting. They have a Superman type they call Hyperion, and a Flash like speedster called the Atlanta Blur, and this Doctor Spectrum, who kinda reminds me of a Green Lantern type, only instead of a ring, he has a crystal that is imbedded in the back of his hand. I give it 3 thumbs up...

Well I read the TPB over the weekend and found the story to be pretty good, a good read, like all JMS stuff. His writing style is so unique on comics though I really felt as if I was reading an issue of Rising Stars which was one of my favorites, as a matter of fact, I think the intent was to take the squadron supreme or whatever and give them the Rising Stars treatment.
Also I see more Solar in the Spectrum character than GL, especially with the split personality thing they are started in issue 6.

I am selling "nothing" on ebay-yet.
