The one that came out in 82 (I think). You can still get it at a reasonable price & in good condition.x-omatic wrote:Which issue number 1?BodaZoffa wrote:This is off topic, but I've read that there are plans in the works for a Silver Surfer Movie. Lots of CG effects, I guess.
We might be seeing a lot more of Silver Surfer here soon. I bought issue #1 off of eBay, just in case.

"No, no, it really DOES look better than VG/F! And with that statement, I'm telling you to mistrust everything else I grade, because I never knew how to grade correctly in the first place! Now that CGC has 'put me in my place', so to speak, I now must point out to you that I think they're just WRONG WRONG WRONG, and I know how to grade better than them! Of course, that means you should look at all my UNGRDADED comics with suspicion, because I'm ADMITTING that I don't know how to grade!"
I'm telling you...I lived for 10 YEARS with *SQUEE* selling me crap that had creases, dings, tears, folds, stains, etc etc etc as 'MINT!!!!'...and *SQUEE* off more than a few who *SQUEE* ME off because they had the balls to stick a Fine- comic on the wall for a NM price, and I dared call them on it....the revenge has been SO sweet. Literally. Laughing every single time I hear someone say this...or 'I was expecting a much higher grade'....HA. HA HA.
And people genuinely wonder why actual NM 9.4 copies of everything sold for many multiples of Guide when CGC finally hit the scene.
But I'm not bitter.....much.

Vol1 , Vol2, Vol3....

Wayyyy back in 1990-ish, I bought a Silver Surfer #1 in Fine for $4 from a store. Guide at the time was roughly $40 or so. I traded it for a NM copy of Justice League #3 Limited cover.
Yeah. Ouch.
