Please. Take no offense. But I think we should discuss it. My hope is to *SQUEE*-off VIP or VEI enough that they'll have to post something just to deffend them selfs.Knightt wrote:Boy, you just keep getting better and better every day.jedimarley wrote:Knightt wrote:Honestly, I dont even know WHY we discuss this whole 'new owners' thing. Like I said it makes you wonder how many other projects like this there are (unfortunately absolute public silence tends to go more with "failure to launch" than "we got no plans"). I'd think an article like this got published because eitherjedimarley wrote:Untill now.Brian Thomer wrote:I was referring to the development, not the failure to launch. A) Someone at Newsarama remembered they had this cool dead article and wanted to see if they could publish it now.
B) The parties involved in Icon One now definately know nothing is going to happen with it so they gave the go ahead to release the article.
C) Some combination of A) and B)
Ok, now I can understand that. I just get frustrated as I am sure that many others do on the board.jedimarley wrote:Please. Take no offense. But I think we should discuss it. So VIP is VIP, except you know they're Dynamic Forces, so let's not speculate about the things that you know...Knightt wrote:Yes, I have always maintained that stance.Todd Luck wrote:I thought you said VIP was Dynamic Forces.Knightt wrote:

I'd go with A, since that's pretty much what Ryan said he did in the LiTG: Shooter thread.Todd Luck wrote:Like I said it makes you wonder how many other projects like this there are (unfortunately absolute public silence tends to go more with "failure to launch" than "we got no plans"). Thanks for posting that Leaf and Ryan Mclelland.
Yet another 'Shooter-verse' down the tubes. I would love to go to house and just read all his notebooks full of the stuff that never made it to print.
As for the concepts and names, they don't jump out as being something I would care about on concept/name alone.
But I remember when the names of the Defiant comics were first revealed, and thinking how stupid they sounded to me at the time. "Prudence & Caution", "Charlemagne", "Glory", and the Broadway names/concepts didn't sound that good to me either "Fatale" (cashing in on the bad girl phase), "Knights on Broadway" (having the name of the company in the name of a team just seemed lame)... Until I read the stories. Then the names made sense and I actually liked them more. What I'm saying is Shooter stuff is always about the excecution.
Would have loved to see this, but since they weren't really his concepts or his writing, I would prefer to see Daring or him working on something else.
Hope the Legion thing floats, looking forward to it.
